Here is my basic trailer for hauling Bikes and Kayaks.

Currently the kayaks sit about 5' above the deck of the trailer with the bikes wheels cut into the floor resting on the trailer frame below.

The plan is over time
1.To replace the axle with one that will accept larger wheels/ tires as the clearance will be an issue as we go into more wild country. Current is 13" on the nose, 8" at the axle, 10" at the tail.
2. Change the wooden rack to a welded steel one which will take the tent onto it where the Kayaks will then be mounted over the bed of the truck. ( so we can create a base camp and move from there)
3. Build removable enclose shelving down both sides of the trailer to eliminate the need to put everything in totes when travelling.

To Come-
Mount a Full Size Spare on the front
New wooden floor
Replace plywood sides with expanded metal mesh
New Tow bar with A Frame and extend through whole length of trailer to allow another hitch or tow point at the rear.
Build a Frame to mount the tent above the trailer.
Full paint to a tough skin product.
