Ok.. So are we fully committed to the last weekend in March? The 24th through 26th at this point? I already requested the previous weekend off because I thought that's when it was happening. I should be able to change my day of request easy enough.

Edit: nevermind.. I just realized I had requested the correct time off.. I'm good to go.

Hi there, I'm new to the forums and to this Country.

I'm interested. I'm starting off from the Bay Area, but in a stock Tacoma. This would be a great intro to some nice trails.

Would this be a problem?

thanks
Richard

Hi Richard! Welcome to the forums! While the trail can be challenging at certain points a stock Tacoma TRD or 4X4 can definitely handle it. I have even heard of 2X4 taco's making the entire run (albeit with a heavy right foot). If you have any specific questions regarding the trail feel free to ask away, or to send me a message and I will try to help as much as I can.

As far as potluck goes.. Here are my thoughts... It may be easy enough to do a potluck each night, then we don't all have to supply dinner for the entire family each night. I'd volunteer to supply the main course for one of the nights.. Probably carne asada on the skottle one night.. Thoughts on dinner potlucks? I figure lunch will be on the trail as we stop at locations along the trail.

I rather like this idea

Stupid question - traveling from Seattle area, could I make this trip (down & back) in a week? It sounds awesome......[emoji106]
Count me in (ce4460) Mbr# 1023. There are a couple others that are making the trip from the Seattle ish area. Perhaps join forces for a convoy down.

Alright, updated 12/21/16. @ce4460 , @findmeoutside , and @Jaydub514 added to the respective lists.

I am now working on a document that should be ready for Prime Time around January/middle.
It should answer a lot of questions and give some traction to this trip.

A general outline is:

- Introduction
- Trail overview and a VERY general schedule, including expectations of moving a large group
- Trail etiquette (don't laugh, it's a thing!)
- Camp etiquette (is he just making this stuff up?)
- Equipment recommended, including vehicle and it's contents
- Maps, coordinates, .gpx files, etc.
- Trail Communications (comms) and some simple rules/suggestions
- Permitting
- Contact list and how/when to let leaders know your sit/rep
- Local and Emergency contact information
- Extra-curricular activities (now I know he's making it up...)

...and more when I think of it!
