We completed Rimrocker from Moab into Montrose 2 weeks ago in an 80 series and a 200 series. We were able to complete the trail in a day stopping for lunch and short breaks. The views are worth taking your time over 2-3 days, but if your rig is setup to handle it, you can probably blast it in a day. Have fun be safe good luck with your trip!
I like 2-3 days. Makes it the destination worth going to.

Which one are you referring to?
Here is the CO Emergency Management map. Rim Rocker is far enough away from the Grand Junction fire it wont be an issue. The other 3 big fires are E and NE of GJ. I-50 has been jammed packed since I-70 is closed and looks to be closed for some time.

Right. I'm familiar with the maps and those fires. I just didn't see one that would affect the area between Montrose and Ouray.

Neal, any closer to setting dates for this trip?
I didn't mean to hijack this thread. The potential trip I spoke of is independent of this one.

Having said that, I'm still waiting on the guy who posed the idea to get closing dates on his home purchase.

Hey @Iridium, can you give us any approximations?
