I would like to show my project that I have used the last 11 months to build.
I bought this Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 TD from 1999, which had driven 191,000 km. I thought the car was in good condition, but I was wrong. When I got it home and wanted to build it, I found out that the chassis frame was rusten. So I decided to disassemble the car and repair it.
I put in new fuel an brake lines plus new polyurethan bushes, new rear wheel bearings, everything is still stock.
Body back on plus new 32'' tires. (test fit of roof rack and tent)
The car was bought as a two seater, so rear seats would have to be installed. they are from Hyundai Galloper (they where the only ones i could find)
To keep the cost down, I built my own drawer system with a kitchen. The gas stove will be changed to ethanol burner. Behind the drawers there are a 20 liter water tank.
Underneath the drawers there's a folding table so its all ways easy to get too.
In the left room i've installed a 230v to 12v converter.
Small led light installed (warm white more comfortable for the eyes)
The engine itself has only had a problem. The diesel pump was leaking, which made it cut off after a few seconds, a typical problem on the Pajero engine. So I had to take off the pump and send it to a mechanic so he could change the gaskets and calibrate it again.
I have now been driving it for about 8000 km with no problems.
Things to bee installed or done
- Rust protection
- OME suspension
- ARB Compressor
- Front bullbar
- Sound insulation
