I would like to show my project that I have used the last 11 months to build.

I bought this Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 TD from 1999, which had driven 191,000 km. I thought the car was in good condition, but I was wrong. When I got it home and wanted to build it, I found out that the chassis frame was rusten. So I decided to disassemble the car and repair it.

I put in new fuel an brake lines plus new polyurethan bushes, new rear wheel bearings, everything is still stock.

The car was bought as a two seater, so rear seats would have to be installed. they are from Hyundai Galloper (they where the only ones i could find)

To keep the cost down, I built my own drawer system with a kitchen. The gas stove will be changed to ethanol burner. Behind the drawers there are a 20 liter water tank.
Underneath the drawers there's a folding table so its all ways easy to get too.
In the left room i've installed a 230v to 12v converter.

Small led light installed (warm white more comfortable for the eyes)

The engine itself has only had a problem. The diesel pump was leaking, which made it cut off after a few seconds, a typical problem on the Pajero engine. So I had to take off the pump and send it to a mechanic so he could change the gaskets and calibrate it again.

I have now been driving it for about 8000 km with no problems.

Things to bee installed or done
- Rust protection
- OME suspension
- ARB Compressor
- Front bullbar
- Sound insulation

Well having a pajero is truly a project that never stops.

I have to admit that I like the appearance of a 2012 shogun, and I think the ride comfort is alot better.

The main reason I did not choose it is that there's too much electronics, so if something break down, its gonna be very hard to fix it.

yeah it is a very good point my elderly neighbour who moved away had a 1987 pajero with 2,000,000 as in millions of miles on the clock and when i brought an old 2001 l200 he said it was useless because it had an all electronic ... SPEEDOMETER.

but im not to bad around a relay soldering iron and multimeter, besides the japanese electronics is amognst the best and most reliable and i probably will do some electronic relocating and put higher quality resistors and relays where avaliable because i will raise the electronics as i do some wading to the bottom of windscreen depth water, so an older one would probably suit my needs better but it is the avaliability of parts here in the uk

hi. Daniel
are you using he folded over side of the roof top tent as an awning type thng with it hanging over the back of the vehicle with the light, if so that is a very good idea i might do that on my future build

So its been a while, but since our 3 week trip from Denmark to North cape in Norway is just around the corner, I am fixing and upgrading the car.

First bit, new equipment for our 11 year old kid, so he has a place to sleep. And off course a place to hide from the mosquitoes. its a ARB deluxe awning room

IMG_20180309_185118.jpg

Then for making our trip easier I upgraded the kitchen set up from ethonol to propan so the cooking time is reduced.
IMG_20180605_150149.jpg

Lastly for making the trip a bit more comfortable since we dont have A/C we tinted the rear windows, and a bonus it surely looks good

The bags on the roof is our Ortlieb bicycle witch is holding the dry food for the trip.

So after our big summer trip up to the North Cape and back (6281 km) and som other small trips, I've decided to do something about the eksterior of the car.

First: since we have been driving close to 50.000 km on the same set of tires, we needed some new ones and in the same process I ordered some new rims as well they are kmc xd 128 and the tire is BFG KO2 285/75 r16.
DSC06525.JPG

Second: in the the near future im gonna fit a winch so i needed a new bull bar, however since a new one would cost me about 900 euro's I set out to build my own. Its made out off 3 mm stell.

all done, keeping to the old school look I added some Hella 3000 lights

DSC06529.JPG
Next up is installation of the winch plate and winch.

sorry for some of the pictures, my phone does'nt have the best of cameras
