Hello everyone, I'm in the STL Area. Looking for some people to go explore the MO state.
If your on FB, check out SMS Overland (Show Me State). They have a good size group that hit the trails all over MO frequently. From meet & greets, to weekend trips in and around the entire state. Sometimes they drop into AR, and sometimes they join up with other groups on week long trips out of state, like CO & UT. Fun family orientated group, with good people.

Hey all! I’m moving to KC this summer and looking for overlanding people and trip ideas. I’m coming from Idaho where there is a ton of public BLM land to explore so I’m not sure how it is in Missouri.

the wife and i are heading up to the tetons next week and decided to come back home by going east and dropping down thru missouri. any recommendations on sites to see? the wife likes waterfalls and caves, so im sure there are some there. we'll hit kansas city and either drop down 49 and check out table rock lake area OR work our way down and east and go diagonal thru mark twain forest and then hitting I-55 around Sikeston and then straight down to home.

all i know about missouri is a scene from The Outlaw Josey Wales that looked a little too close to that scene in Deliverance...

Here ya go. Greer Spring, just north of Alton, Missouri. 220,000,000 gallons a day. Second largest in the State, and the largest spring on Federal Property in the United States. Helps feed the 11 Point river, part of the National Scenic Riverways, USDA/

Glad you like it. Campground is on the river, 20 sites, 1st come 1st serve. Potable water available. Kayak rentals are available at Richards up the hill from the river. Have fun and post some pics.

Edit. Forgot the spring is up the hill to the south from the river and is a great trail down to the spring. Parking lot and vault toilet available. Lots of things to see and do in the area.
