Hello! My Name is Tony and I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills just outside of Yosemite NP. I have been a longtime motorcycle rider especially on dirt for over 15 years. While I still love it I've noticed more aches and pains at 55 yo when I fall. So I started overlanding, all the views, peace, and outdoors... Less falling and picking up my bike . I would consider myself new (about two years) but not a novice. Thousands of miles of mountains roads in my backyard. Love to explore and just pick left or right, up or down as the mood hits me.

I hope to find a local group and attend some group runs. I'm an professional artist/designer (25 years) and I do a little drone flying and photography
to compliment this hobby.

It's a 2003 Ford SportTrac, I designed and build my own RTT platform for $160.

Hi I'm Kilo in South eastern NM
I have a 2005 ram 1500 4x4 to start the build...new to overloading. I try to employ the KISS method.... So I will start with a roof top tent, am looking at the elite model from 4x4 Colorado, anyone have any Intel on the company or the product?
Hi Kilo,

Welcome to the OB community from us all in France.

Cheers Paul and Nicky

Hello Overland Bound Community!

I'm Dingus, and I'm new to Overlanding. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of rig I want to build, so there's no photo just yet.
I'm located in Wisconsin
I have spent 20+ years as a backpacker and I want to stretch my outdoor adventures past the hiking trail and have it be more all-encompassing with a mobile base of sorts that can get me deeper into the wilderness before the hike starts.

Looking forward to doing some research and learning from the collective knowledge of this forum.
Hi there Dingus,

Welcome to the OB community from us all in France.

Hi there Tony,

Welcome to the OB community from us all in France.

I still love riding my dirt bike, but as you say the aches and pains take longer to go as we get older.

Have fun out there.

Cheers Paul and Nicky

Greetings!

My name is Stuart and I’m in the northwest US, on the border between Washington and Idaho, to be specific.

I originally hail from South Africa and have spent a lot of time in Botswana, which is where the overloading bug first bit me.

Here in the States, I recently lost my stalwart Subaru Forester - who bravely ventured where no Forester has ventured before, only to die a violent death in traffic.

Consequently, I’ve finally upgraded: to a 2018 4Runner TRD Pro that was extensively modded by the previous owner for an adventurous life in Utah (lifted, shocks, armour, 35s, regeared, and more).

Bucketlist trips are now Canyonlands and Great Bear, but will be looking for more local adventures first in the E-WA/N-ID/NE-OR.

Pictures attached are of my 4Runner in northern Idaho, and the Landcruiser I (and a tetchy hippo) recently put through its paces in a very wet Botswana.

Cheers!
