Fresno can be a gateway drug to the Sierra, lots of beautiful places there both dispersed and in established campsites
I’d recommend getting yourself out to Pismo Beach, closures seem to be looming in the future, may be fun to go before true beach camping becomes a distant memory
The state has some great designated OHV sites as well that can be tons of fun and beginner friendly

Death Valley should be on the short list for you, fall and spring can be nice time to go
lots of members here with intimate knowledge of that land

Check out the rally point listings, may have a chance to meet some local folks and get out there!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Sungwon and I am a new member to this forum.
I am based in Southern Michigan surrounded by modern campgrounds.
I do like to camp on somewhat of a budget though so I am hoping to get into a little bit of overlanding here and there to escape the cities.
My current vehicle is 2021 Tundra SR 2wd.
Having a 2wd definitely made driving slightly cumbersome but I was still able to hit some mild trails with it several times.

In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:
