Hi I'm Jake, I'm from the northern IL area. I've got an 07 jeep jku. I am a jeep freak haha. My experience I'd say is probably somewhere in the middle. I started doing off roading at around 6 from dirt bikes and atvs. Moved up to trucks when I got old enough. I take multiple trips a year with my jeep group. I've been to off road parks around me and this year we've gone to redbird, drummond island, and I just finished the Trans Wisconsin Trail. I love everything to do with the Northwoods so when I'm off work that's most likely where you'll find me.

Hey Expedition_Offroad, the lights performance are really good. I am quite impressed with it eventhough these are the smaller version (7in or 7.5in vs the 9in). I had a 6in IPF lights in my previous rig and the ARB intensity are way more bright and deeper beam. I also like the interchangeable lens cover that besides protecting also allows for extra feature. I have the yellow ones and is great forn foggy nights.

Cheers
Yeach awesome stuff i do like the idea of interchangeable covers everyone I talk to says there good I just can't decide between them or the new Lightforce

Hello! I am new here. Wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Bernie. A few months ago, we bought our first 4x4. It's a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off-road and we absolutely love it. It's my wife's, Kristin, daily driver, but on the weekend, it's the family mobile. From time to time, she let's be borrow it for some off-roading fun. But the main purpose was to take our family, wife and 2 daughters, on adventures, trips off the beaten path. Places we would normally not go in a car.

Like I said, we are still new. Learning the rope. Asking ton of questions. Hopefully in the future, I can help people out like how people so far have been helping me out.

New Members,

Welcome to the Overland Bound community! Please take a few moments to introduce yourself so we can get to know you!

A few things you might want to include in your introduction are:

1) Picture! If you have a rig, we want to see it!
2) Location (General area is fine)
3) Rig (Year, Make, Model, etc.)
4) Overlanding Experience Background (Novice or Experienced, you're welcome here!)

We're glad you've found us and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!

In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:

From @administrator
  • Overlanding is: "Vehicle Dependent Travel". Nothing else.
  • We will not further define "overlanding".
  • "Capable" depends on the requirements of the trip, and we take that very seriously.
  • You are an Overlander: Overlanding is for everyone who has exploration and adventure in their heart, or, who need to be reinvigorated by connecting with nature. Nature is unforgiving. You must rise to a certain level of personal awareness to survive. Sound right? Overlanding is for you.
  • Encourage uncomplicated ventures into the great outdoors. Don't over pack.
  • Be prepared, and understand basic requirements. Question folks, to be sure they are aware of what is required. Don't assume.
  • Share without reservation, trip locations, and information.
  • It doesn't matter what you drive: The only requirement of an Overlander is that the vehicle serves the job required, safely.
  • We do not care about make or model.
  • We do not engage in "this is better than that" competitions.
  • We DO give advice about how to make your vehicle ready for what you need. Share knowledge.
  • Humility.
  • We respect, fear, and protect nature.
  • "I don't know" is a great answer.
  • We don’t brag about exploits.
  • We seek answers from the community when we don’t know.
  • We engage in the very smallest of interactions.

Hello All,

I am new here as well. I am so new, I have not received my number yet...

Based in Beaverton, Oregon, I recently found out that I live around the corner from Accessory Outfitters in Aloha. Could be damaging to my wallet.

I've been a long time off road driving and moto riding/racing enthusiast... I got my username via advrider and this picture while racing the 2010 Sandblast Rally..

I currently drive a 15 Jeep JKU, and have begun the long process of turning it into an overland capable machine. It's basically a stock Sport with AEV leveling kit and Rubicon wheels / Tires and rock rails...My goal is to have it look like this...

Excited to be a part of the community.

Cheers,

Jason

Welcome! That is one awesome looking rig! You're from Moorpark? I am in Camarillo most of the time! Glad to see you here!
Thanks!!! Yup, Moorpark is awesome. I don't visit Camarillo often, but when I do. I go to Big Brand Tire off Dawson. LOL

Happy to be here. Let me know if there is anything going on in the area. I am always down to hang out.

Dub-Nation .. nice rig .... what kind of rack is that ?
Thanks so much sir! It's a Front Runner Outfitters Slimline II Roof Rack. FRO is located near my house (kinda). You can see them off the 101 fwy in Agoura, CA. They have some sweet looking rigs parked outside their building all the time. You can't miss them.

Nice!
Welcome!

An RTT on top of a teardrop trailer... I don't see that too often. Any words of wisdom on that setup? How do you like it? Any issues?

IMG_0718.JPG IMG_0707.JPG I have to be perfectly honest I really thought it was going to be overkill but we absolutely love it. In the winter time we store our gear up there when we setup camp and in the summer time its the perfect place to sleep! We did quite a bit of research on them before we bought the CVT and for the price it was the best one out there in the northwest. Of course we got a great deal on it last year at the overland rally in Plain,Wa.

Hello Everybody!

I am new to overlanding. I'm in the process of building up a 2009 tacoma. It started out as a tow rig for boats and other toys and slowly transformed to what it is now. I am usually in the Des Moines or Dubuque, Iowa area depending on if im at school or at home. I have taken my truck up to door county wisconsin a couple times this past year to camp but nothing really off the beaten path. I'd love to get more into the off the beaten path stuff once I graduate college. IMG_5313.JPG
