Hello everyone. Really glad to be introducing myself to this fantastic community.

Name: Martin
Location: Dubai
Rig: Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit V8 (ruggedised :grimacing:)

I’m currently building up my rig to take on more local vehicle dependant exploration of UAE and Oman. I had big plans for last year but this was put on hold due to travel restrictions.

Now though I’m looking forward to the borders to opening up soon and getting my WK2 ready to explore and find adventure.
Hello Martin, welcome to the OB community.

I'm from western Canada, but I'm currently in Ontario for the next year. So if you have any trip suggestions for southern Ontario let me know.

For a more verbose intro you can read my poorly written truck intro

Where abouts in southern Ontario (if you don't mind me asking)? Once things warm up a bit and dry out I will likely be planning a trip around southern/eastern Ontario with one of my rigs ( depending on level of difficultly of trail I end Lanning or how remote I plan to go). I typically run solo but could always use an extra rig around just in case.

About 30-40 min south of ottawa.

That being said I'm starting to realize that most Ontarians consider Ottawa to be central and the area near Kingston/Toronto to be south.

Crag lake was on my list of spots to hit along my trip. I am up near Owen sound but figured a trip up around Kingston, maybe stop at the Wilton cheese factory on on the way by, then up around the Ottawa Valley area, and loop back down around Algonquin and then around Ardbeg/Parry sound before heading home.

I've seen Craig lake mentioned a few times on some other forums, I've also heard that there is a low difficulty trail that starts somewhere near the Canada/US broader and ends near merickville.

the other one that I'm interested in is the TCAT sections in ontairo, but I'm not 100% sure if its 4x4 friendly as other then the BC sections it seems to be mostly moto riders that do that one.

Ya to my knowledge 4x4s are not allowed on the TCAT ( at least most of it.)

As an Albertan I find it weird that "northern" Ontario is about midway up the province and that the northern part of the province is some weird magical fairy land that no one goes to :P
Lol ya it has to do with population density. Technicaly I'm northern Ontario oven though I can drive 4-5 hours one way and be in the US, and drive 18 hours+ in the other direction and still be in Ontario lol.

that's fair, too bad though the area around Dryden is fairly reminiscent of western Alberta right as your getting into the rockies.

Hi everyone! I'm up in WA state. I have a stock 2018 Rubicon Recon JKU. I'm fairly new to overlanding but did sections 3 thru 6 of the WABDR last summer in a stock Sahara...which lead to a trade in for the Rubi and an insatiable desire for more!

Hello Eric , Welcome to Overland Bound.
I am the Northwest Director. @Ubiety is your closest member representative.
To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).
Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.
Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.
Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.
Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.
Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.
Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.
Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails.
