Hey y'all! Greetings from West Tennessee... not to be confused with the picturesque Mountains of the blessed lands of East Tennessee... this is the Delta :) I have a miserable addictions to Land Rovers, so for those that partake in schadenfreude, I hope you enjoy... After the abuse of following $100,000 jeeps on "tons and 40's", and then spend my weekends repairing my fleet, I have decided to give the simpler life a try. I am in the early stages of planning a trip to the Ozarks, so if you have any maps from the SE Meetup there, that would be great - or advice on recovery assets or communication channels. I also just passed my Ham Technician Test and want to learn more about trail comms.Crumpets.jpg

Looking forward to making lots of new acquaintances.

Hi, my name is Dan

2)Athens, Ga
3)I don't have a rig as of yet. My Mini Countryman S just got totaled from an accident and looking into buying a new vehicle. Trying to decide between a mid-size/full-size and SUV/Truck.
4) A bit tied into 3, my family and I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping etc. but brand new to the concept of off-roading (past taking a stock Countryman S across several moderate trails involving avoiding ruts) and overland-ing. We want to be able have my wife, daughter (4 yo), our 3 pups (ranging from 20-100lb), and I be able to enjoy the adventures.

Thanks for having me!
3) I just came home with a 2020 F150 crewcab xlt4x4

Hi Everybody! My name is Rick Pfadt. We currently are wheeling in our JKU, some trips with our SCT Teardrop, and have a TJ we are currently building more extreme for the rocks and desert. We also have a 46 CJ2a in pieces that will be brought back to life after the TJ is going again. My wife and I love exploring the mountains and desert as often as possible. Hope to see you on the trail!

Hey, I’m Clyde from St Louis, MO.
‘19 Wrangler Rubicon, stock for now

No real overlanding experience, hoping to meet some local folks who’ll share some intel and maybe even let me into their circle. I’m intrigued by the long-term Jeep living channels on YouTube, and draw inspiration from that, knowing well that I cannot quit my job and set out on that quest. That said, shorter-term week or weekend get-aways are not out of the question.

Hello all,
My name is Tom aka Chevytau from Northern Nevada. I drive either a 1993 FZJ80 or a 2006 GMC 2500 Dmax depending on what kind of trip I’m doing. I guess I would say my experience level is high, I’ve been doing this stuff my whole life, although I’d never heard the term overlanding until a couple years ago.
Been aware of OB for awhile now, not sure why it took me so long to join but I’m really looking forward to learning from everyone here.
Hello Tom, welcome to the OB community.

I guess I will say hi finally. I've been an Overland Bound member for a year but haven't posted before.

I grew up in Wyoming so pretty much my childhood and young adulthood involved driving up to the mountains and camping (but I didn't know it was called Overlanding then), plus a few longer trips out to Dinosaur, Canyonlands, and the Grand Canyon. I spent another 10 years "Overlanding" on a M1A1 tank. Today I reside in the SF Bay area (until I can free myself).

My rig is a 2005 4Runner V6 which is very much a compromise between what I would love to have and what will get me acceptable gas mileage as a daily driver. It has a 2.5 inch Dobinsons lift and plus sized 32" tires. No sliders yet but that will be the next big ticket item.

Anyhow hope to learn more from the forum (I've already made great use of the website) and maybe meet a fellow member or two.
