Hey Everybody,
My name is Alan and I'm from the Seattle area. I have been absolutely obsessed with the idea of overlanding since I discovered it on Youtube thanks to LLOD. I currently have no rig as I am an overseas contractor but am in the market for one. Looking forward to being part of the community.
Welcome from Whidbey Island! Make sure to check out the local region's forums for events and meetups in your area. The Rally Point system is very helpful for that as well. The NW region as a FB page that you might consider joining. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or hit me up on the forums at @Gabriel Bozeman

Hope you find a vehicle soon!

Cheers!

Hey Everyone,

My name is John and I’m from Northeast Ohio. I got into this by accident after getting my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and absolutely loving going camping with it! Right now my trailhawk is still stock but I have a lift and rock sliders on order! I’m not as new to camping as I am to the off-roading side of things. I usually backpack and hike. When it comes to off-roading I’m still very novice but have been getting my feet wet with a Jeep club in my area! I’m definitely looking forward to doing more with my trailhawk!4F11A26D-9E5D-4E87-B9DF-33B8FC5D9386.jpegD99EFBEB-BCAA-437A-9076-6AE651B259F3.jpeg855D617D-9C52-4D30-BE1E-9F321FA18681.jpeg

Hello,
I’m new to any truck modification, but am very interested in building out my Nissan Frontier as a sleeper overland rig.
I want to do front and rear bumpers, winch, rack with pop top, dual battery, 1” lift with SLIGHTLY rugged tire. Possibly in the future ad tire carrier.
The pop top needs to be able to handle lumber loads. I’ve come up with a few ideas similar to GFC but lower profile and more of an integrated rack.
Any direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Jed

Hey everyone,

My wife and I just discovered that we both love camping. I’ve been interested in overlanding for a few years but never invested much time or money into it because I felt my wife wouldn’t enjoy it. After a recent camping trip Bianca developed a passion for camping so now we’re attempting at least a short trip every other weekend. I love the vehicle modification aspect(to a fault) and have to reel myself in when it comes to my rig. I’m currently in a stock 2006 F250 with the FX4 off-road package. I’m planning on adding a 2.5” carli lift, 16” wheels, 35” tires, front autolocker etc. etc. [emoji38]

We need the most help in the location aspect. I’ve always been a backpacker and don’t have much experience with car camping. Any advice on dispersed camping or fun locations/trails in the South West, particularly NM would be much appreciated.

Thanks and excited to be a new member!

Todd

Hello folks...I'm brand new here :-)
Originally from Germany (father in military, mother German, I grew up there and visit often), but have settled (among other states) in KY for 17 years and now in Maryland for about 10 years. I'm interested in anything automotive (racing, modifying, car shows), working dogs and the outdoors (four wheeling, camping, hiking). 'Overlanding' will be a new experience for me and I'm very excited to have joined this 'group'. I look forward to learning much from you, so I'm hoping you won't get tired of me asking questions...of course...AFTER I'll make great use of the search function:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
I currently drive a few vehicles, but the one to take me places, will be my 2019 RAM Rebel. It has the air ride, which means I won't lift it...for now (until the warranty runs out). Looking to modify the truck soon, even though there aren't many accessories for the 5th gen Rebels...I'll be patient. I'm looking for local trails (PA, MD & VA) to explore and to meet great folks along the way.
Anyway...enough of me rambling on and on....Thanks for allowing me to join.

Mike.

Hi All,

My name is Don
I live in Miami, FL (As far away in the continental US as you can get from where I love to go hiking and backpacking; Utah, Colorado, et al)
My rig is a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 4x4. The picture was taken on the Cerro Gordo trail off 395 in Southern California , whereupon I realized that driving my truck around the country and camping in cool places is what I was born to do. This picture represents a 'BEFORE' snapshot of my rig. It's slow transformation into a capable Overland vehicle begins next week when the wheels and tires arrive. I look forward to meeting and riding many of you in the very near future.

Hey all,

Location: Rhode Island
Rig: 2018 CRV (Stock). Looking to trade it in for a 4Runner this fall.
View attachment 117058

Experience: New to overlanding, not new to camping/backpacking. LLOD's channels also keyed me into the concept a couple years back. Looking to explore the northeast, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland while we're living here. I've had a hard time talking my wife into backpacking, but she's been a little bit more keen on having a little more creature comforts that overloading would allow compared to backpacking. Eventually my wife and I will move out west but for now I want to make the most out of what is available. In Rhode Island it's hard to find so much as a fire road that's not gated, so I haven't been able to do too much exploring locally, and I'm just not sure how much more than that the CRV could handle. Not looking to change much on it because I'll be upgrading soon to something more capable. Would love to meetup with some local people and learn more about overloading. Past 8 years have definitely been lacking in terms of outdoor adventures due to training/work, but looking forward to changing that.

Hello all

Location: Philadelphia
Rig: stock 2008 Subaru Forester
Experience: Beginner. My wife and I love camping, but I want to step it up. Living in the city can bring me down and I want to spend more time outdoors, and not just at paid campsites at state parks. I want to explore! Hoping to slowly modify our Forester to tackle such adventures.

Hello I’m new to overlanding but I’ve driven around in the woods and camped for all my adult life so combining the two seemed like fun. I look forward to everyone’s insight and experience. I currently have a 2011 Subaru Forester NA. I’m interested to see what people are doing to their Foresters and what experience people have here in the Pacific Northwest.
