View attachment 40606 Good Evening Everyone

Brand new to the whole Overlanding thing.

I used to drive a standard 2004 Tacoma but for a number of reasons I traded in for a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD (Diesel) with a 6.6 LBZ motor and Allison transmission.

From- Southern Maryland

Looking to start a basic set up able to handle moderate off road and roughly 4 days max. We spend a lot of time in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Virginia. Hope to talk with y'all about set ups and locations. Thanks!
Welcome to OB Max, love the fullsize rig! Hard to beat the LBZ with an Allison tranny, Have fun out there

Hey everyone, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Jason and I am pretty new to overlanding with four wheels. I run a 2013 Tacoma with a 3" lift and a set of 33" BFG KO2. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and would like any info you have on good overland camping spots in my general area. Thanks and look forward to chatting and getting to know some of you!
Welcome to OB Jason, have you watched 410 Expedition? I believe he (Cappy) is located somewhere near you.. He has some good youtube videos of trips and camping locations. Have fun out there!

Hello all,

My name is Shane and I live in south central KS.

I guess I've been overlanding for a while now but we always just called it "wheeling and camping," however I would say I am still definitely a novice. I don't get out as much as I would like but hope to change that very soon.

My first 4x4 was a 1998 XJ. I put a 2" budget boost and 30" mud terrains. I drove that thing in Wyoming when I lived up there for a short time, all over KS and OK and also in NC when I was in the Army. I currently have a 2005 Wrangler Rubicon with a 2" budget boost and 1" body lift, new tires and other accessories to come in the near future.

I recently purchased a 2017 Tacoma TRD OffRoad in hopes of being able to get out more often and go a little further. I plan to upgrade as time goes by but it's also my daily driver so main focus is on the TJ.

Other than that, thanks for the opportunity to be here and I look forward to chatting with other members and gaining knowledge.

Best,

Shane

Hello from NJ. Looking forward to learning more about overlanding. Own a 2016 jeep JKUR, and enjoy it as much as possible. Not a big rock crawl fan, enjoy the out and see kind of off-roading. Owned a CJ7 many moons ago. Excited to be back.

Hi team -

My name is Sinjin Eberle, and I live in Durango, Colorado. Most of my teen and adult years have been spent in the western US, and I have explored the four corners region and the Southwest for more than 3 decades - I love it here.

My current truck is a 2009 Tacoma, purchased new. A couple of years after I bought it, I discovered Overland Journal and my world changed. Shortly thereafter I had an Old Man Emu suspension put in, and the ride and capability improved instantly! In 2016 I got a CVT rooftop tent and again, life got even better! Now, if I could just figure out this tire conundrum...

I am the communications director for the non-profit river conservation organization, American Rivers, and as such I do a lot of writing, photography, and film making work. My truck is commonly basecamp for my work excursions as well as my fun escape. A life-long mountain biker, hiker, climber, and fly-fisher...all outdoor pursuits are welcome.

Couple of pics below, but in short, I am excited to join this community in a more deliberate way!! Thank you for including me in your world!

Excited to finally be apart of the community, went on my first "overlanding" trip last summer. Comparably it is nothing to what takes place in this community. Therefore, I would consider my self a novice overlander, but I have a good deal of knowledge camping, and have been doing so since I was very young. My experience off-road consists of a few no maintenance roads in central Colorado (Old Mill Road Region, Crystal, CO) and a good majority of fire roads in North Central Wisconsin. Being in college has not allowed me to travel as much as I would like to. But with summer and next years graduation on the horizon I hope to join up with the group and explore.

My current rig is a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V8. 210k and counting. I have owned it for coming up on 3 years/45K miles. My plan has always been to build a set of bumpers, skids, and rock sliders to accompany a lift. Time has always been my enemy with school. Pictured below is the day after I purchased in 2015. The only that has changed it a roof rack I built and many trail stripes.

I look forward to chatting with other members and gaining knowledge.

Hello OB Community,

I'm a novice overlander from Orange County, California (SoCal) who just like to leisurely explore trails and see where it takes me. Haven't done anything heavy but I like to be prepared in case I need to.

My rig is a 15 Land Rover LR4 (aka Discovery 4) and is usually busing around my three girls to school, soccer practice, dance recital etc. But its ready to take on the dirt road at a moments notice. Hope to learn a lot from this community. It's felt like a warm welcome so far.

Traveler I

Hello, my name is Keith.
Location: Central NY
Rig: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo WJ aka Hilde
Experience: Novice to Overlanding, have trail riding experience. Looking forward to adding a new adventure that my whole family can enjoy together.

My 5 yr old son is into everything camping and being in nature. So I figured this would be a great way to introduce him to the love of 4 wheeling at the same time. The plan for this build is a mild lift between 2.5"-3" and to test my hand at fabricating. I do have welding and design experience. This rig will also be used for a daily driver, so everything I do to it will also reflect this.
