Excited to be a part of the community!

Names Cody

Can you tell me a little about your trash bag on the back?

There are always secret areas nearby. Just tread lightly and you’ll find them.

Why build a raptor? Good for the snow mud? I’m more familiar with their capabilities in the desert.

Hey Marcus,

The bag is by Last US Bag Co. it’s called Oscar’s mobile hideout. Extremely high quality. And I love the way it looks and performs compared to a trasharoo or something similar. As dumb as it sounds.

As for the raptor. I’ve always loved them. So when I decided on getting a second vehicle that I could specifically dedicate to road trips, put however many miles on it, scratch it, beat it up, off road, and just have fun with. This was definitely one of my selections. I knew I wanted a truck over an SUV due to the gear layout that’s available only with a pickup. The raptor is still super nice inside. Decent sound system. Heated and cooled seats. The cab is MASSIVE. I know it’s slightly impractical due to it being so long and wide. And getting horrible fuel economy. But it’s kind of what I envisioned when I picked something out to build in the future. (I drove it for a while bone stock before I started modding it for overlanding). They have an electronic locking rear diff, a lsd front diff, and an already upgraded suspension. No need to lift it really. Already comes with 35’s from the factory. It’s great in snow. Awesome in mud. And honestly even does well in a rock climbing environment.

I’m still very new to overlanding and haven’t invested in any upgrades to my truck yet. I’ll be rocking a ground tent until I get some more experience. I’m hoping this forum will be a good way to join a local group on some runs and gain some knowledge.
You're good to go as is. A ground tent and reliable vehicle is all you need to start off with. I'm sure you will meet some great folks in your area.

Overlanding is about getting out. Gently explore and have a back up plan. Everything else will come naturally
