Hello Overland Bounders,
My name is Mark.
Rigs several…I have an addiction to overland rigs, mostly cause until my recent retirement I worked as the sales & marketing rep for Colorado Camper Van. So the current stable is a 2004 CCV built E350 6.0 uh_oh 4x4 high top w/ full interior build out, 2000 E350 Ujoint built 4x4 van (currently giving it a face lift) and 2015 Jeep JKUR with Ursa Minor pop top.
I reside in Loveland CO. Been into overlanding for 10 years or so… but was really doing it before I even knew the term.
My hobbies out side of overlanding include in no particular order - dogs, rock climbing, mtn biking, fly fishing, alpine skiing & surfing.
Welcome to OB...love those vans, man!

Howdy! My name is Jean-Christophe (John for short). Currently living in Houston TX, so not sure if that's part of the SW or SE. We travel mostly the SW right now, but we're open to explore anything. We have a 2016 Jeep JKU, and so far we did simple trips out West with nothing major but building our gear slowly up. I'm looking forward learning a lot more and most importantly meet you guys out on the trails!
Welcome to OB, John! We're glad to have you here, be sure to share all about your adventures. Enjoy!

Hello all! My name is Josef. I have lived in Los Angeles and adjacent all my life. I have a temperamental 1996 Land Rover Discovery that I absolutely love, and that gives me non-stop problems. I like to explore, though have mostly only done so on small trips and locally, though I'd like to go out and see more/do more. I'm really bad at taking pics when I do anything, so I'll include a pic of the rover in its most common "off-road" spot... the back of a tow truck!
Welcome to OB, Josef! We're glad to have you here. I don't know that I've ever met a Land Rover that wasn't temperamental, although the only time I really dealt with them was as a mechanic! Enjoy OB!

Greetings from Wisconsin! I have a '21 Forester with no mods yet, I'm an experienced long distance hiker and camper and have always sought out adventure. I'm getting older now and it's time to put some wheels under myself. I have most of the gear I'll need and I'm starting on my rig as I can afford but right now I'm looking forward to some winter-wonderland adventure.
Welcome to OB, David! We're glad to have you here, and thank you for your service. Enjoy OB!

Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Vehicle: 2017 Subaru Outback (modded)
Previous Vehicle: 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero (when I lived abroad in Qatar)

Previous Experience/Why?: Novice-mediocre: lots of sand dunes and airing down stock tires, which worked great. Also had a scary day stuck off grid in the mud in Qatar in 115F heat. Don’t make that mistake! Off grid/BLM camping only for me in SoCal- don’t like seeing neighbor camp sites. Love getting out of town and into nature!
Welcome to OB, Zack! We're glad to have you here, Qatar must've been a blast! Enjoy OB!

Hi there, just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I am located in Colorado near Canon City and do most of my exploring either in a 2002 Ford Excursion (Family of 7), 2013 Kawasaki Versys and Honda XR600R.

I've been off-roading, camping and backpacking most of my life and as the family grew overlanding seemed like a logical extension of that. Wouldn't say I am Experienced but I'm also not brand new.

Looking forward to getting involved and meeting up with folks from here!
Welcome to OB, Dan! We're glad to have you here, and I'm excited to see where you go with that rig! I have an old diesel Suburban and love seeing other full size SUVs. Enjoy!

Hello I'm Thomas, north Alabama, and my rig is Atlas. Atlas is a 2003 lexus gx470. I actually wanted a landcruiser, but the gx470 was 5k cheaper and had a lot less miles.

I'd say I'm a novice. My only previous experience is abusing a Carolla (silver slug) off roading and traveling in it.
Welcome to OB, Thomas! We're glad to have you here. That's a good looking rig, enjoy!

Hello everyone. My name is Brad and I just happened upon this well-sorted site/forum after searching for Mitsubishi rally | dakar | overlander vehicles. When I came upon "Overland_Mitsu"''s build of his Outlander Sport: Mitsubishi Outlander Sport light over land build ...I knew I was in the right place! Have no idea why I didn't find this site before?

Location: Sandy (Salt Lake City), Utah
Previous Vehicle: 1996 Bronco XL Pre-runner/Chase Truck (just sold it in July to a KoH Racer who lives in Moab...see images below)
Candidate Vehicle: 2022+ Mitsubishi Outlander (?)

Previous Experience/Why?: Moderate weekend off-roader with more of a focus on desert chase truck work, performance rally communications (ham radio) support in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, and support of ultra-marathon events here in Utah. No overnight stays in the field (had enough of that crap in the Army)...but I am willing to consider doing some of that again in the future before (and after) I retire in five years. I started off-roading because I got into supporting SCCA pro-rally in the mid-'90s in SoCal, Nevada, and Arizona. in the mid-90s...but then I only had a Ford Escort GT, and that wasn't a very good 'rally support vehicle'. So throughout the late '90s and early '00s, I visited a number of the off-road fab shops in SoCal that I could find when traveling on various business trips. After all that research, I planned my build and bought my '96 Bronco in 2008 here in SLC and embarked upon my 'rally support vehicle' build. The Bronco served me well for 13 years but earlier this year it was time to let it go. And that is what I did, and now a KoH racer living in Moab is the proud owner of my Bronco and is using it as a bonafide pre-runner!

So my wife and I are now setting our sights on a true overlander / rally-inspired / Dakar-look crossover/SUV, and I think the new 2022+ Mitsubishi Overlander fits the bill.

A couple of pictures of my former '96 Bronco are attached...along with an idea of what I want the "Overlander Outlander" to look like here sometime soon (the attached image is of the 2022 Overlander as it competed in the 2021 Rebelle Rally just a week ago in SoCal and Nevada...complete with Mitsubishi Ralliart Dakar livery!)

Welcome all suggestions, and thanks for having me!
Welcome to OB, Brad! We're glad to have you here, that's a good looking bronco with quite the history it sounds like. Enjoy OB!

Hello Overland Bound Members,

my Name is Markus Hagen. I am located in the middle of Germany and plan to travel all over Europe. My experience so far is on shorter trips to the woods around my hometown and on vacations with my three daughters. We go on trips together mostly to Denmark to ride our Kite Buggies on the beaches. Therefor a 4x4 comes in handy to drag a trailer onto the beach.

I have a faible for Land Rover Defenders. I happen to own 4 of them. My excuse is that we have three girls and they should have their cars, too.

I learned to love camping and campfires since I travel a lot for business reasons and hotel stays are of no value to me anymore. Thank goodness I was able to convince my girls, but sadly my wife has not participated yet.

I am develop an INSTAGRAM account with pictures of my and other peoples cars - mainly Defenders: @landroverdefender007

I am looking forward to meeting other overlanders in Europe and I hope that this community will grow strongly in Europe so that we get good networking-effects like you guys in the US.
Welcome to OB, Markus! We're glad to have you here. I sure look forward to seeing your travels. Enjoy OB!
