Hey all Wonderland_Recon here, aka Chad & Keri from Magnolia, Texas. We are new to Overlanding and we recently picked up a new 2021 Jeep JLUR Eco Diesel as the foundation for our Overland build. We are hoping to connect with other Overlanding folks that we can learn from and enjoy exploring the greater USA with.
Hello Chad, welcome to the OB community.

New Members,

Welcome to the Overland Bound community! Please take a few moments to introduce yourself so we can get to know you!

A few things you might want to include in your introduction are:

1) Picture! If you have a rig, we want to see it!
2) Location (General area is fine)
3) Rig (Year, Make, Model, etc.)
4) Overlanding Experience Background (Novice or Experienced, you're welcome here!)

We're glad you've found us and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!

In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:

From @administrator
  • Overlanding is: "Vehicle Dependent Travel". Nothing else.
  • We will not further define "overlanding".
  • "Capable" depends on the requirements of the trip, and we take that very seriously.
  • You are an Overlander: Overlanding is for everyone who has exploration and adventure in their heart, or, who need to be reinvigorated by connecting with nature. Nature is unforgiving. You must rise to a certain level of personal awareness to survive. Sound right? Overlanding is for you.
  • Encourage uncomplicated ventures into the great outdoors. Don't over pack.
  • Be prepared, and understand basic requirements. Question folks, to be sure they are aware of what is required. Don't assume.
  • Share without reservation, trip locations, and information.
  • It doesn't matter what you drive: The only requirement of an Overlander is that the vehicle serves the job required, safely.
  • We do not care about make or model.
  • We do not engage in "this is better than that" competitions.
  • We DO give advice about how to make your vehicle ready for what you need. Share knowledge.
  • Humility.
  • We respect, fear, and protect nature.
  • "I don't know" is a great answer.
  • We don’t brag about exploits.
  • We seek answers from the community when we don’t know.
  • We engage in the very smallest of interactions.
Hi everyone, it's my first day here and my name's Jeff. Looking forward to meeting members and having fun.

Location: Whittier CA.
Rig: 2007 Tacoma
Experience: Experienced but still learning

I love being out there enjoying nature and its challenges.

Hi all,
Tim & Suz here from Saskatoon Canada! Glad to be a part of this community. We’ve been “overlanding” for two year but have been avid outdoors people forever... We love the life, the freedom and the new friendships that are forged from meeting like minded people.
We’re currently working on our rig, I don’t think this will ever stop!!! But so much fun.
Our platform is a Gen 5 4Runner currently in mod mode. Just waiting for the suspension and rear bumper to show up. I’m sooooo impatient...
So far we’ve put on a full roof rack, front winch bumper and winch, also rock sliders. Over the last few weeks we’ve built and installed a drawer system and fridge slide.
Looking forward to the Can/US boarder opening again. We hand to cancel our trip last year down to Utah and Arizona due to the “Vid”.

Hi I am Ray. I am a new member. I just found out about overlanding and would like to get into it. I am in Brooklyn ny. I own a stock 2011 Jeep liberty. Can this be used for overlanding? Thanks
Welcome to the community Ray! Your liberty can absolutely be used for overlanding, it doesn't matter what you drive! It's all about getting outdoors and adventuring. You don't have to have some crazy expensive rock crawler or expedition rig to get out and enjoy the wonders of nature! Check out some of the info in the new member section of the forums. Lots of great info in there! Have fun adventuring!

Hi Folks, just registered for the site today. Located in Hartland, CT, just to the left of the notch on the northern border with MA. Looking to learn about the Overland hobby and meet some folks. I'm an advanced amateur photographer interested in some beginner, tent camping, excursions here in the northeast to start off.

Have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, mostly stock at this point. But I do like to venture off the beaten path without really abusing it (still my daily driver).

Good evening, new to this forum, but not new to forums in general, running a 2016 Wrangler with a custom made camping trailer with a RTT, love dispersed camping and off road travel.
Hello Gregory
Welcome to the OB community
I would like to see a pic of your trailer and hear about how you built it as I am starting to plan one of my own.

Hello Overland bound community.... My name is Harold and my wife is Katrina.
We are in Texas near Houston. Our rig is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU and the trailer is a modified 2014 Okie Trailer
We are fairly new to overlanding. Love to camp and love off road travels, so figure its a good mix to get started.

Hello Ray, welcome to the OB community, your vehicle is more than capable of overlanding, besides it is all about the journey and getting out there not what you drive.
