Hi, guys. Just joined today. I'm from San Diego County, CA and my ride is a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. I inherited her from my family and was actually my first car back in high school. My uncle was the original owner and then my mom after he passed away in an accident involving this Jeep back in the 90's. He would do a lot of camping/overlanding and we would use it for similar purposes while growing up (including towing a grossly overweight 30 foot trailer... mom was a little nuts), and now that I have my own daughter, I'm hoping to have a lot more adventures in my old Jeep. Anywho, I'm glad to be here. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum. Post a pic of your rig in the other thread when you get a chance. Lots of knowledgeable people on here. You'll find this to be a great forum.

Thanks, guy. I'll be sure to do that when I get a chance. Don't have any pictures right now but I think this Wednesday were going to hit up a local trail, so I'll take some then.

Must be nice to go trail riding on a Wednesday if you feel like it. I used to live in Phoenix and had that luxury. Now we're back in Iowa and my Wednesday drive is through a cornfield. lol

Ha, yeah that's the day my weekend falls on (I work eye in the sky for a casino that's open 24/7). It's nice because everyone's at work and I have all the trails to myself.

I really liked Iowa. My dad is an avid bicyclist and used to ride RAGBRAI every year. We would follow him from town to town and set up camp. My in laws are also from Iowa. Mom is from Council Bluffs and dad is from a tiny little town that I forgot the name of. From what I hear it's a literal ghost town now.

Council Bluffs is on the opposite of Iowa. I'm on the Mississippi in Davenport. RAGBRAI ends here quite often, where people dip their wheels in the river. Iowa is nice, but lacking in ORV trails. Enjoy the forum!

Definitely interested in seeing what you do with the Renegade. When they first came out I hated em, now I love em and my fiancée wants one. I told her as long as I can put a lift in it, I'm good.
It grew on me as well I traded my 2wd 4Runner for it. Main reason was MPG my work is way to far

My turn:
San Marcos, TX. Driving a 95 Isuzu Trooper pulling a '56 pickup bed converted into our camp trailer, with a RTT. I wouldn't call the trailer overland ready just yet, but he (Sid) is getting close! He's taken us out on several tame adventures in the 9 months we've owned him, and had several additions thus far.

Welcome @MIke Smith ! I, too, love the old Troopers. My father had a '90 that I loved, but unfortunately it suffered from rust issues late in its life having spent many years in upstate NY. He still has a '98 that he uses for hunting and fishing and that thing is also pretty stout.

2) Rig: 2009 Nissan Navrara D40 and 2000 GU Nissan Patrol
3) Overlanding Experience Background:Had plenty of experience but still learning everyday

Thats a great looking pickup! ( the patrol is obviously great too) but that storage on the back of the navrara has my eye.... how does that thing work? Is your kitchen in there or something?

Welcome, @Dunco

That D40 is something I've never seen before. Y'all get all the cool stuff down there (said as an avid Subaru owner.)

Thanks, man. It's awesome to have another San Diegan on the boards. We were thinking about hitting up the Otay Truck Trail and although I'm loving this weather, I don't know if we'll risk it. Nothing like sliding off the muddy mountain into Dulzura or Mexico to ruin your day. We'll see.
