Hello All!
I’m based in SW Washington and have a 2000 Toyota Tundra that I lovingly refer to as my “Budget Taco.” I’m an experienced mountaineer but somewhat novice at overlanding. Have many miles under my tires, but not many nights under the stars. Oddly enough I got into this through my passion for night photography. I’m always trying to find the darkest places with the brightest stars so I can take Milky Way pictures without having to fight earthshine. Being in my Tundra let’s me travel much farther and bring more stuff with me for shoots than I would be able to on a hiking trip. I just recently installed an ARB compressor and locker and I’m now building a sleeping platform for the bed of my truck that lets me and my yellow lab sleep in somewhat “comfort “ for winter camping.9BB80300-38F8-4280-A296-8C8D82451E93.jpegCA46399A-F1E6-42A1-BA4B-5A01E50E43F5.jpeg

My name is Dave

1. St Johns, MI
2. '10 Dodge Ram 1500 Still in the build process
3. I’ve been off roading and camping since I was a child. Currently I’m a Displaced Yooper, I was raised in da Upper Peninsula U.P. of Michigan.

I’ve been going to YouTube university for awhile now learning about “overlanding”. Now that I’m older and wiser I figure it’s best to enjoy the outdoors with my truck and not just trying to get up steep hills and through mud holes as fast as I can. One, you beat the heck outta the truck and two, it gets really expensive doing it that way. I’m a retired Army veteran, and would like to enjoy the outdoors with other like minded people..

Location: South of France (via most of Australia and California)
Rig: 2004 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DiD (LWB Gen 3 Montero with a diesel engine if you're not familiar)
Experience: It's been a while since I've done any truly 'vehicle dependent travel'. I used to own a Landcruiser Troopy that I drove all over Australia, but that was two decades ago. My wife and I hike, backpack and camp a lot, so we're using our vehicle as both an overlander, and as a base station for multi-day treks, or multiple day hikes from a central location. We are building out our Pajero for a combination of on and off-road travel throughout Europe, West Asia & North Africa.

Hey everyone,

Location: SE Pennsylvania
Rig: 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon
Experince: Got in to exploring and off road during my 6 years living in WA state. Had a 95' Wrangler that I did a number of mods to. It just wasn't big enough for me and my family. We sold it before we moved back to the east coast.

It didn't take long to get the itch to go exploring again. So we traded in my Grand Cherokee and got a Gladiator.

Its already lifted with 35's, so that helps. Planning on going to see family soon and we're going to go drive part of the MABDR. Once we inventory our gear, we're going to build from there. Really considering a half rack and roof top tent.
