Truck is my daily driver, my weekend wheeler, but mainly the family overlanding rig. The goal was to build it out to handle solo, remote exploring with my family of 4 and be completely self sufficient for up to 7 days without resupplying.

My basket case.

1975 FJ40: currently not running and the body has been separated from the chassis for some major repair. This is a long term project. Someday I would love to have it in the shape of my old 67 FJ that I had in college. And then sell it off while I look for an FJ45 PU...

I love land cruisers I have now been the proud owner of three different models. HJ47, HJ70, FJ80 (LX450) current rig is the HJ70 camper conversion recently sourced from Aus. With 45K miles (66,000 KM) 5spd, its a true please to drive! Lets see what other LC owners are driving, modifying or restoring!!!

Oh man! I just found this thread and I love looking at pics of decked out cruisers. Here is mine:

’74 FJ40
Stretched 14” to FJ43 length for more interior room
80 series front axle/coils/radius arms
80 series full float rear
f/r zip lockers, 35” PBR on allied beadlocks
’01 4.8 chev V8 & 4l60e

Its more of a wheeling rig than overloading so far, the rest has been done for 2 years now and is proving to have the bugs worked out so I plan on packing light and getting out on longer trips with it.

It is the summit of mount Hammel in the Rocky Mountains north of Grande Cache Alberta. Not super big compared to other areas of the Rockies but its open to OHV and there are lots of good trails for jeep sized rigs.
