Great input from all as the countdown nears. Are there any overnight areas that will require reservations, or I should say if I dont have any reservations is it going to be me and Sasquatch fighting over the Jacklinks for the night?
At this point we're not planning any camping location that requires reservations. Except maybe for the last night, some of the options might be reserved.

In other word, we might be fighting each other AND the Sasquatch :tonguewink: Well not really, but we might have to improvise if needed so I'm trying to make sure we have alternatives when needed.

!!! Respond to this thread by end of day Sunday 6/7 in order to reserve your spot for this trip !!!

Sometimes sleep provides clarity, so I am going to try a different tack. I know of some folks who are committed and raring to go and there are others that I have not heard from in a while. So speak up if you are committed so that effective planning can happen in the short time that we have left! We are at 12 rigs and may need to make some decisions if we go much larger. THANKS!!!

Once we have a more concrete list of attendees we can share phone numbers, email addresses, picture(s), etc. I'll continue to organize the attendee list and will share out a google sheet real soon now.

Something like this would be great
Name: Greg Eigsti (city slicker names Greg/Julie)
Vehicle: Jeep JKU (stock suspension, stock MTs), winch, recovery gear
Souls: Myself and my wife @Heidi
Comms: HAM/GMRS
Duration: Beginning to end, possibly bugging out early depending upon child and dog care.
Other: deck of cards, chainsaw, satcom
Experience: many years camping and driving gravel roads with non-OB group, new to OB events, pushing my limits in the JKU and learning. I do not anticipate having difficulty with the terrain. Anticipate ;)

Thanks everybody for helping me to get a handle on attendance! I am really excited! I have never done any of the BDR and @mtn and @armyRN have ensured that this will be a great trip!
How many people are you allowing to come? I’m thinking it might be best to start a new RP, send out an invite to all that have confirmed already, then the Member Reps can blast it out to the masses.

Or the person who originally posted the RP can go in and edit the pertinent information on the RP (i.e. start time and place; number of participants), and make edits in the text in that post to tell folks to check the last few pages of the thread for any updates.

I'm thinking the folks who already signed up are either going to show up or not. And starting a new RP might just totally confuse the issue (especially this late in the game).

Contacting those who originally signed up (on the list a few posts previous to this one) to see if they're coming-or-not is a good idea.

I picked-up a NW Forest Pass today at Big-5 Sporting Goods this morning. Cost was $30 for one year. I'm figuring most dedicated sporting goods stores would sell them, but I didn't check to see.

Thanks! Day got crazy and I forgot to call. Wife is running to Fred Meyer now and will ask at the fishing license desk. Worth a try. But great news, thanks!

I would have walked rather than run myself, but that's just me.

You can purchase both the Northwest Forest Pass and the Discovery Pass from REI as well. Both show as available online with curbside pick-up at the Bellevue store tomorrow.

I just went out and checked, I got a Discovery Pass last year in August, so I am still good with that one for a couple of months. I also dug out my Butler map of the BDR and my GPS is loaded with the tracks.
I am really getting excited for this, just a few little details and I am ready.

Thanks all for responding! I am updating the google sheet and will share that out once we get past Sunday and the group has solidified. If you are going and want to send your email to me I’ll share it with you now.

Went through paperwork in Jeep yesterday and found that I have two valid and unmarked discovery passes. Speak up if you want one of them, dont see any WA rules that preclude a “transfer between friends”, in fact they are transferable between two vehicles and I dont see any stipulations around who owns those cars, just that you mark them.

Been doing a little spreadsheet cleanup and have the following exciting stats! We are currently at 8 vehicles, 12 people and 3 dogs :)
@SCS, @Joshua Buss and @Hogman - private/direct message me your email address and I'll share the sheet with you.
@SCS - you wanted to borrow a radio for the trip a while back but I think you are setup now. Let me know if you still need a loaner.

Everybody with Y in their Sheet Access column should have received an email invite to the sheet.
Attendees tab/page - feel free to add personal info, please don't make huge changes for the time being or I will get really confused.
Everything else - add/update/modify at will

We still need to confirm the starting place and time. Or are we going with the original start place of The Bridge of The Gods, and time? Vance.

Look for a big post from @mtn in the last page or two. He has done a fantastic job of lining out times and schedules.

I updated the google sheet and added @mtn's itinerary as a new tab as well as an FRS/GMRS/PL-tone frequency chart to the comms tab.

Looks like our son is coming along for the ride! Now my packing strategy must change :) He is 15 and loves this stuff and cars, any car but especially Chevys, square body Chevy trucks ;) I'm sure he will want to stick close to the dogs and can probably help out there. Joel is on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum and you may notice some social awkwardness; please treat him as you would any other "high functioning early teen" (oxymoron?) and give him a chance to warm up. He's a great kid and a lot of fun; I am excited that he is excited about this trip! We went through my fixed blade belt knives yesterday and picked out a sweetheart for him to wear on the trip :)

Everybody who has confirmed up for a Wed/Thurs pre-flight call? If we can get everybody on the call we should be able to cover questions/answers and make our first day meetup driver's meeting go much smoother.

How about Wed 6/10 at 6pm Pacific?

Thanks!!!
