I just joined and I was wondering if there was a place to upload photos and such as part of your profile to use in later discussions. As opposed to searching and uploading a photo each time you want to post or reference a photo.

No, there isn't. It was discussed some time ago, but nothing ever came of it. I think I remember the reason was that the gallery option was a resource intensive add-on to the forum software.
