Any links to mods or files or maps or anything for this other than, read directions, buy time and etc?

Hey Jim,
The inReach is pretty simple to use. I had mine on a sailing trip to the BVI's in 2016 and a flight into far Northern Canada latter that same year. It was simple to use and performed very well, even in heavy tree cover.

Perhaps it would be worth while for folks to put their inReach map links in their profiles. I'll look and see if I can post mine.

Download the Earthmate app on your phone or tablet. Bookmark https://inreach.garmin.com on your computer. That's where you'll upload your map files and manage your account. You'll also need the inReach Sync app to update the software and sync your custom maps to your device. And start thinking about whether or not you want to mount it to the dash or just drop it in a cup holder.
