So I’ve found myself at a tough position. I leave for my next trip in just 4 days. Today I was prepping my gear and noticed my Coleman triton grill has completely rattled apart. I need a new grill for this next trip and I basically can choose from what’s available at cabelas, Walmart, academy or amazon if it’s on prime.

My problem is that, after reading Coleman’s reviews on so many of their new grills, I’m afraid to spend money on it. I believe I saw a camp chef stove locally. What would everyone recommend?

That's unfortunate about the Triton. I just bought one. I hope that mine fares better. I have heard good things about the Camp Chef Everest, and of course the Partner Steel. It's just the Partners are pretty pricey and I don't think you can get them quickly. I think REI had the Camp Chefs though. Good luck in your search.

After a long time researching, My next stove will be a Camp Chef Everest 2x. Can't speak on them personally yet, but It's what looked to be the clear winner after watching a lot of videos, and reading a ton of reviews online.

I love my partner steel! I had a camp chef Everest the tube between 1 and 2 burners broke on it’s 4 outing. I am sure mine is the exception. I would by a partner again the best stove by far.

I would love to find a partner stove but it doesn’t look like I’m going to find one in time. I know one of the Walmart’s near me has a camp chef in stock the other day, now if I can just find it!

My fairly new Colemen crapped out recently. I bought the Camp Chef Everest 2X to replace it. It has been used on 3 trips now, 2 of them 5 day+, as the only cooking stove and it is a great stove for the money. Gets plenty hot and has very good heat control.

Heat control was the big thing I was looking at when looking at reviews. so many have poor low-heat capabilties, which I really need in a stove.

That, and two burners that don't have less heat when they're both on.

I went with this Magellan unit from Academy to replace my Coleman dual fuel unit. Not because the Coleman failed but because it took up a lot of space and I wanted something "thinner". IT's worked well for me so far.

That’s odd that your Triton fell apart. I’ve had mine for over 3 years now and it’s been great. My stove even flew off the table in Death Valley during a wind storm and only suffered a few dents. With two 11,000 BTU burners, the Triton beats out the competition that just come with 10,000 BTU burners.

When my Triton stove finally goes out, I’ll probably get a Camp Chef Everest stove. They have good reviews and each burner is rated at 20, 000 BTU.
Whatever you buy, don’t get a butane stove.

Another vote for Camp chef Everest. Got mine on the way. In spending weeks researching, it's definitely one of the best options.

Pepsi can stove, and a bottle of denatured alcohol (homedepot).

Might save you 50# as well. Can actually be under your GVWR maybe.

They didn’t review the partner steel because it’s sold direct. Partners are very well thought out. I have owned backpacking, 2 and 3 burners, white gas, propane, and alt fuels. I was excited when I got my Everest, having it fail night 1 of a 10 day trip was disappointing. I folded the pipe back on it’s self and had it brazed closed. I used a primus for 15 years before the Everest.
I still have my grandfathers 3 burner Coleman. Stoves are mission critical on my trips, l am sure my Everest is the exception but I will not be using them.
