Noobie here from Wisconsin. Just starting to get into Overland building. Seen some videos and listen to some podcasts on the topic. Have a 2002 Nissan Xterra, I'm looking to start building out. Any advice on where to start? Can't wait to learn more about Overlanding!

Welcome to the forum from West Texas. I'll bet you'll have plenty of people on here that can give you much more specific advise than me as to where to start on an Xterra build out. My advice would be to get out on an adventure, see what you already have that you like or don't like and go from there.

Hello and welcome to the OB crew....great rig for your adventure platform...look forward to seeing your build and your adventures. Starters....the basics...first aid, axe, shovel, jack, and basic recovery gear like a tow strap, chain, and a come along. Then grab your gear and get out into adventures. Be smart and safe if you go it alone. Find out what you need and want as you go along before getting wrapped up in buying gear you don't need or use. Good luck and welcome to the Family.

Thanks man! Yeah I got most of that. Gonna get some better tires and probably put a stainless steel exhaust system on to start. Both need to be replaced so figured those are the most pressing needs.
