I'm a new member currently living in Nederland, CO. I do more wheeling than overlanding usually but am about to go on my first longer trip, 3 weeks going from CO, to San Diego, Ca, and back and joined up to see what I could learn here. My current plan for the trip is to head west to Moab, then down to the Grand Canyon, then to Anza Borrego for 4-5 days, then head back to CO hopefully hitting Broken Arrow and Devil's Staircase on the way back, plus a Land Rover event in Moab on March 19-21st. If anyone else has any must do trails I should check out on my drive please let me know.

I'll be driving in my 2015 Land Rover LR4. It's not a Jeep, but fairly capable offroad, fully armored, locked, and running on 34s.

Hey Shane, welcome to OB! Sounds like a great adventure coming up for you. You might look into checking out the regional (area you're in & areas you're traveling through) forums for some tips, too. Your Rover sounds & looks to be perfectly capable. Enjoy!

Hello neighbor! Very rare to find anyone that knows Ned, much less someone who lives here aswell! Once the crazies is over we should meet at Saltos for coffee. Safe trip!

Hi. I did some motorcycle (mostly fire road 4x4 trails) riding around Nederland a couple of years ago. Had lunch at the little cafe in town. Such a great area. I'm jealous of all of the accessible trails you have in your back yard.

We are lucky for sure....unfortunately, its kinda crazy on the trails right now due to the large number of people escaping to the mountains due to covid. I'm on several trail crews and I suspect some of the trails will be closed in the near future due to overuse/abuse......At least I have my "secret" trails above my house!

So funny thing, right after I joined life got in the way and I never came back to the site. Later my LR4 died and I ended up building a new rig, a 2011 G-Wagen and have been all over in it, from Florida to California but mostly I wheel it around the CO front range area. I ended up going on a great day of wheeling with a few members from here yesterday which reminded me I should log back in and check the OB community out as I had meant to 2 years ago.

Pics of my latest rig and wheeling with a few OB members yesterday.

I'm only a couple of years later to replying, but that sounds like a great idea :grimacing:

Looks like fun, I have a Husky dirt bike (street legal) I ride around the area in the summer too. I've even been known to throw it on the back of my truck and do a little wheeling/camping/riding when I'm lucky enough to combine everything in one weekend. If you're ever looking for someone to go dirt biking with hit me up. I ride with a couple of other friends from Ned as well who both have Husky's but doubt they don't go out much in the snow. I'll hit the trails once in a while in the snow on my bike just to remind myself how much work it is, then go back to my truck for a while.
