If you can't see the flaw in a plan, maybe that's because you are the flaw.

Everywhere is within walking distance of you have the time.

Measure twice, cut once.

Hell hath no fury like a dad who's tools are missing.

I said, "I never repeat myself".

You reap what you sow.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Some friendships do not last, but some friends are more loyal than brothers.

Just because I have the ability to speak doesn't mean I have something to say.

I listen to the voices in my wife's head.

There are two kinds of lies. One starts with "Once Upon a Time." The other starts with "Man , you ain't gonna believe this shit!"

Maybe the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train.

If everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

Some I’ve come up with.

Don’t cross the line you’ll get cut in time.
(Winch line)

Slow and controlled, if you don’t know.
(Trail conditions)

-NOT MINE-
When in doubt throttle out

I also use the ones you mentioned at the top. You and I are cut from similar cloth.

My grandfather raised me and when I was a teen and going out on the town he would tell me one thing. “Don’t let anyone do your thinking for you”. And I pass it in to my children. It is the best and truest adage I’ve ever used.

That and of course the old leave statement “don’t add to the population or take away from it either, dismissed gents”! Pretty sound advice! Lol

These might be just general sayings more than adages.
