I'm one if the most Southern OB members in the UK. When I attended the last show I shouted out to see if any of the other members fancied joining up for a convoy to the show. I understand that shows aren't everyone's cup of tea but I'll say that I arrived at the show on my own and left unescorted.

I have the most impressive Dartmoor National Park on my doorstep which has ever changing scenery throughout the seasons. Unfortunately wild camping is not allowed and driving offroad across the moors is frowned upon. Whenever we (several volunteers) carry out "clean ups" of Dartmoor after inconciderate fly tippers I always fly my OB flag. I hope in some small way that it might provoke interest.

I am currently in consultation with the Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response Team wrt becoming a member. Who knows I might be able to recruit some of them (or other national response teams) into the OB family

I used to live in Ivybridge, many, many years ago and used to know my way around Dartmoor on foot, by bicycle and car. Would be good to go back sometime, shame it's such a long drive away for me now. May be one for a holiday trip sometime. I would imagine green lanes are far and few between.

Any one fancy a meet iam sure we can sort a Day cracking site. Aint been for a good many years Drivng but was a spectator not lng back and its stil a cracking site for the beginner or seasoned off roader alike
Must admit, my days of pay and play are long gone. But, since they have a good selection of 4x4 driving, I might be interested in a day out sometime.

I would be up for meeting up but my Landy is built to live in and as such is my home when travellin. It does go off-road but in 5he likes of Doing long routes but each ,outer is carefully considered. So pay and play s not for me but a meet around a pay and play venue would be great.
Those who like to get muddy and wet can have some fun whilst the rest of us watch and laugh as you guys get stuck

I'm more interested in the travelling aspect rather than offloading. Unfortunately my pride and joy isn't fully equipped to the level I'd like. Who knows, with Christmas approaching my fellow OB family might get me what I need. Such thoughtful chaps. Thanks everyone. Ha ha ha

This looks like a venue for a potential gathering however my lovely employers are a little frugal when it comes to holidays.

I am hoping however to make a trip early next year to the Lake District so I hope to touch base with one or more OB members.

Yes that’s the problem with the Buy, sell swap forum, everything seems to be USA and as such it’s not realistic to ship it to U.K.
Understand re people trying it on but in this instance you would have more of their details being a member etc.
As for sending things by courier / post there are safe guards in place for proof of sending and proof of delivery.
They way I see the system now we in the UK might as well not have it so I just want to make it a tool we can use.

I think we should start this in a new thread to discuss further rather than muddy the water of the original post.

@Kent R @Michael can this be moved to a new thread topic with the existing comments for a regional Buy sell swap forum
Dave I will email for more details.

Nice to meet up with @snowcat OB4204 for coffee and chat about all things Land Rover and Overlanding including a North East 250 weekend trip at some point maybe.

https://www.northeast250.com/

Also Looks like our meet has generated some other interest on the FB OB West Europe page in our local area so small steps in the right direction.

Nice one! We’re currently hanging out in Edinburgh for Hogmanay, don’t think time will permit us to head further north this trip. Mike shared some good insight in response to my post about the North East 250. Depending on other plans we are looking to attempt it next year but probably looking to take a bit longer at it than a weekend... something to do with the number of distilleries to visit on route [emoji6]

Will still be interested to see if a plan develops for a meet-up though!

Brill we will give you a shout when we get something arranged. Even if you can’t make it but do your own make sure to let us know and we could still meet up.

All my years in Scotland I have never done the Edinburgh Hogmanay. Supposed to e great but way too many people for me .
Have a great time and best wishes for 2019.

I'd be up for this except that I don't have enough holiday to take that amount of time off. My New Year resolution is to win the lottery jackpot. When I do I'll be driving everywhere.
