is this one? harbor freight has several and this one was $33 not sure if its the right type. my wife has a '13 sahara and the engine light has been on for months. i might get one if they are that cheap

+1 on the harbor freight code reader. I got one and shoved it in the glove box. I think it should be required overland equipment. Having at least a vague idea of what the CEL is indicating is a big deal on the trail.

One of the biggest reasons I'm a huge proponent of getting factory service literature is with it and a basic code reader you can trouble shoot check engine lights. On my 05 Ford I was able to work through the diagnostic tree and fix a check engine light with the manual, a $50 code reader and a multi meter.
