I have to go to Denver CO in the first week in June. I'm looking at maybe camping somewhere the last week of may near Denver. Any suggestions? I like quite off beaten path campsites. So dirt roads are great. Are roads in the national forests going to be closed or drivable because of snow? I don't mind driving some distance from Denver. Any suggestions would be great thanks. I have a 1999 Tacoma TRD 4x4.

It's a little too soon to say yet, the past few years trails were passable in May. We've had quite the heavy snow year so far this year so it'll largely depend on how warm the weather gets. That said there is alot of camping in the national forests NW, W and SW of Denver. Depends on how far from Denver you want to go. SW of Denver out towards Co Springs area will be amongst the first to clear up and open back up.

Thank you for recommendations I'll have to check them out. I might have to come back later in the season.
