The external speaker extends the audio quite well, and the Nagoya dual band mag mount even though is only on a small piece of scrap metal had decent reception, i was able to ping the local repeater no problem...the rack is made out of PVC elbows and conduit...a can of black enamel, a few screws, etc....$21 at the local hardware store.

That looks like an Epic camp site. you got it all there. high ground, trees, running water,.....Nice!
The original plan was to cross the river and continue down the trail to ardbeg. The river was way too high because of the spring run off, it's probably half that width at normal levels.
