Enthusiast II
Hey everyone, I’m working out details for a trip to Canada’s Banff National Park this summer. Restrictions for Americans to visit Canada seem to be opening up. We qualify based on current restrictions but I am curious if anyone has been there recently or are in the process of planning their own trip? any helpful tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated on Canada’s restrictions or if you have suggestions for our visit.
That’s the main thread question.. If you’re curious about trip details I’ll give all that info below. Thanks!
The plan so far… July 15th we leave Omaha, NE and head to Yellowstone for 5 days, then up through Montana and hoping to cross the border (probably) at Coutts. We want to spend a week roaming Banff then drive to Vancouver for a week where we would be working remotely but still trying to find camping/dispersed places. We would re-enter the states and head to Seattle. After that we “figure it out” week to week from there with no end date which could be 2-3 months down the coast in-out of national parks to San Diego and back across likely through NV, Utah, Colorado.
We’re in a stock 2021 Tacoma with an ikamper. We did a similar trip last year but in reverse. (Omaha-Denver-Gunnison-Hartman Rocks-Taylor Park Reservoir-Moab-Zion-Las Vegas-San Diego-then took highway one all the way up-Huntington Beach-Long Beach-LA-Morro Bay-Big Sur-SF-Napa-Dillon Beach-Rockport-Red Woods National-Klamath—Lakeside-Eugene-Portland-Twin Falls- Niobrara-Omaha.) Took just under 5 weeks.
Here is a highlight of that trip:
Anyway… this year we want to spend longer in each place so we aren’t as rushed without a deadline to come back so if we don’t get back till October.. wonderful.
Thank you to anyone with some insight into Canada’s side of stuff and always welcoming suggestions.
