bald eagle state forest or Allegheny national forest

Hello everyone! I'm brand new here. I live in Akron, Ohio and I recently bought a 2019 Tacoma Trd OR and I'm super excited to get out and explore. Last spring we went on an adventure to Cape lookout down in NC and camped/overlanded right on the beach for a few days and really enjoyed it. I'm planning on taking my wife and 7 year old son on a second overland or should I say "weekendland" trip. Were thinking either bald eagle or Allegheny national forest. I'm having trouble deciding which one to go to. We only have 3 days so we can't do both in one trip.

Does anyone have any experience at either? Any tips, advise or routes I should be aware of? Thank you guys so much! I really am looking forward to becoming a member here!

I don't know about Bald Eagle, but we have been to Allegheny and had fun. Lots of easy national forest roads to explore and nice scenery.

Ideally both @Mitch65 but if I had to choose it’s an easy one. Don’t get me wrong ANF is great. There are definitely things to see and pump jack trails/roads to drive on but BESF is my favorite place in Pennsyltucky. Here’s a link to my thread with routes.
