APRS to SMS Text

For those of you that use your APRS capable HAM radio to send text messages there is a new service called SMS. The old SMSGTE has not been working and is temporally shut down. The problem with the old SMSGTE is that it was sending SPAM if you did not register your number. The new SMS wants you to register your number and any number that you might be texting to via APRS. This is to eliminate SPAM. Here is the link to opt in your phone numbers you would text. SMS

Thanks for posting this! Glad I took time to look thru older posts. I didn’t know there was a new sms system available. I’ve used this from work just to let my wife know cell service was down and I couldn’t call like I usually do while on lunch break. We have also tested it as a way to contact my son who is our emergency contact when we’re traveling.

Thanks for this. I didn't know that the old system was no more. I'm glad I learned before I tried to use it.

Use this like SMSGte or is it different?
