Has anyone seen a 16+Tacoma with warn 8274? Everything I see is hidden and for good reason, since the taco doesn’t lend itself to an ugly monster out front. I’ve looked and so far no deal.

Looks almost like it's mounted on a cradle. I have to agree, not pretty at all. It also looks almost photo shopped ?, but my biggest concern is the OEM air bag quandary. Would it mounted like that even allow for a air-bag deployment if ever needed.

I have always liked this Warn model, but it probably is best left to older 'classic' rigs (60-80's) era Pick ups, Land Cruiser's, Jeep's etc. When I see one on a classic rig, I get a smile, as it belongs to someone who appreciates it's abilities and strengths.

One other consideration for a mount like this, in a permanent placement position, is a lawyers claim or law/ordinance against such a projected piece of equipment posing a danger to others, either vehicles or pedestrians in a collision situation. If the vehicles bumper extended out, and the winches body was cradled behind a bumpers leading edge, than this would not be a concern.

People do it all the time with front tow hitches I even had my winch out front before I got my bumper. I don't think its photoshop you can see the winch reflection in the bumper, the winch plate looks to be going to the frame where a bull bar or other accessories would attach.
I've seen these warns on Suzuki samauris before attached similarly. I don't think they sell plates for those winches anymore I may be wrong though. Most of what you see like the old jeeps and Landover have a thick bumper it bolts to.

Well I was just curious. I’ve had a bunch of winches over the years, the 8274 is my favorite, having moved it from from one vehicle to another. The old girl has served me well for 25 years, guess I’m going to part company with it and eventually get a hidden warn for the taco.
