This guy builds one... basically if you get rid of the regulator and bring up the rpm's you get enough to power to weld... you can actually run power tools too. Skill saw, angle grinders even light bulbs. DC power is more useful than you'd think. YouTube / Google it.Ok so no new updates....and I am curious...Bosch Weldinator?
