Wow, 80 amp? damn. I didn't think anything modern came with less than 100. Look into your vehicle with different options. diesel, towing... If diesel, make sure it will fit your bracket. I wouldn't be surprised if you can find a 120-140 factory size. Put your info into something like Rock Auto and see what options pop up. I use them just for this purpose.
As for total output. The only reason you would want anywhere near 200 amp or higher would be multiple batteries needing charging. My seat of the pants math is +40 for each battery. For this reason is why most towing packages have a higher output alternator.

It is a 7.3 diesel with duel batteries. I want to add a house only third at some point.

@Slimpartywagon those aftermarket large body models may require a second morgage, but appear to be the onky option

Ford 3G alternators came in mid 90’s ford cars and trucks. Should be able to score a core with mounting bracket cheap at a PnP then take the core into get rewound for under $100... I’ll do some digging for you

I purchased a 190 amp alternator from Nations that was a direct fit for my original, factory alternator. Purchased it 4 years ago and have had zero problems with it. Cheaper than a rebuilt from Ford ($360 ish delivered). Charges and maintains my two vehicle batteries, as well as my travel trailer batteries. Very pleased with it...
