That's one of those sizes that's seemed to have fallen out of favor. I was going to say perhaps consider changing your rim size but options don't improve much.. in general the industry has been migrating from 16's to 17's though.

I'd suggest comparing manufacturer's stated tire size instead of relying on the given aspect ratio, similar to how few "33's" actually measure 33-inches. In my experience Toyo and Nitto's typically run truer to size than other companies, Cooper can be a mixed bag, and BFG's tend to run short across the board. That may get you closer to your ideal size.

Yeah I looked 17s as well with no luck, found some in 20s but that's completely unfeasible, toyo have 315s in mts that MIGHT suite but really need AT's for engineering reasons

Spent some time looking at tires, only close one I could come up with in a 16-inch rim is the Interco Trxus STS radial. It's 35.1" in height but 13" in width which is a bit wide. I'm not sure about down there, but there's not as many users of that tire up here as other at's so performance reviews are limited. Technically it is an at though.

Hmm only issue is I'm then stuck with that one particular brand I may have to go with a 315 (even if it is a M/T) and and pray it holds up on the tarmac to pass engineering and make it all legal.
(I bassically have to pass a swerve and brake test at a racetrack, my original thought process was A/T would give better on road traction therefor show better results and easier to get signed off only downside is what I ever size I have on at that time is the only size that is then legal, so one particular tyre brand isn't feasible.
Thanks for your response though, appreciate the help
