I was originally working on a 2023 Honda Ridgeline but felt I hit a wall in the ability to upgrade the vehicle. Additionally, I welcomed a new baby and new puppy into the family that had me looking to upgrade to a full size truck.

I settled on the Titan with the Pro4X trim as it gives me a good base with the Bilstein 4600s, skid plates, steps that are somewhat necessary for the family, a locking rear differential, and true 4WD right out of the gate all at a reasonable price.

I might take a different approach to this vehicle and see how long I can get away without replacing suspension components and tires. I think the Bilstein 4600s have been decent so far, but I am wondering if an upgrade to 6100/5160's may be in the future.

The stock 33" tires are General Grabber APT in a P rating which may also need to be replaced in the near future. Unfortunately, it sounds as if Nissan didn't make it super easy to upgrade tire sizes on this truck.

Overall it's been great so far and I am excited to build it out... though like the Ridgeline it doesn't have the most support on the market, though it seems to beat the Ridgeline in that department still. Regardless, the Pro4X package as it stands will likely get me most of the places I am thinking I will be going.

First up is likely going to be a tonneau cover and bed rack so I can get some camping and gear real estate going!

First set of modifications are in the books. I added a Tyger T3 tonneau cover to keep some equipment dry, and a Billie Bars 8" bed rack system that will be used for an awning, traction boards, gas cans, carrying cases, etc.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, just unsure if I set the bars too far forward.

I was also surprised with a nice nail in the tire this week, so I am wondering if it's worth patching or using as an excuse to upgrade from P rated tires to LT tires.

How's the build progressing? I know it has been a hot minute since a post has happened but, at some point in the future, I'm looking at getting a Titan as well.

Yep. Sounds like Nissan won't be lasting any longer than a Jeep camshaft.

As of now, the build is on a bit of a hiatus as we go through the winter months. I did get an awning mount and awning that I plan on getting thrown on sometime in the near future (I hope).

Thus far it has been a great truck and I have seen very little bad about it from actual consumers. Before I got this, I had a Ram 1500 that was an absolute nightmare and can't hold a candle to the Titan.

As far as Nissan's woes...who knows what will happen with that. GM should have been gone in 2008 yet they are still here today. I personally wouldn't buy into any of the endless fear mongering on the Internet until something actually happens.
