I haven't done much to the ML since the lift. My season ended in October and I've barely worked at my current job due to a late start and then being sick. Here's a comparison picture of the rear lift:

I added 35/12.50r16 tires to my ML320, the gearing is way off but it works well on and off road. My ML500 squatted hard with rear spacers and 275-70R17 tires when I towed my ML320 home. I think the trailer weighed over 1k lbs.
(edit: the trailer alone weights over 1k lbs)

Nice! Thankfully my squatting was fixed with the newer springs + spacer, and better weight distribution in my trailer. Eventually I'd like to put 33's on my ML, but I have other things I want done to it and the trailer before then.

Sorry for the lack of updates, the only thing I've done to the ML this year was repaint the hood because the garbage clear coat I put on it didn't like snow being scrapped off of it during the winter. The reason I haven't done anything this year is thanks to long covid and barely being able to work/make money. Right now the only things I have planned are some long over due maintenance items like oil change and such.

Here's a video I made when I repainted the hood, and when I thought I was over long covid (but then I started working full time and my health rapidly deteriorated....)

Hi everyone. Generally I hate it when I get to a forum post and the creator disappears with no conclusion, so I guess this is my attempt at avoiding that since its been years since an update here.

As I mentioned in my last post, I was struggling with Long Covid issues after my first known covid infection at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022. Unfortunately I was unable to continue working and after seeing many, many doctors with most dismissing my severe symptoms, I'm now disabled and unable to work. This has also impacted my hobbies, such as this car and trailer, and even basic maintenance has been a huge struggle for me. Last year I changed the oil and instead of it taking like half an hour I had to spread it across several days. I learned my final lesson when the car battery needed to be replaced and because I could only afford the battery, did the change myself. That nearly ended in disaster when I nearly fainted when picking up the 60lb batteries and also had to spread the change across an entire week.

So, unfortunately my work with this car, and trailer, has pretty much come to a halt. With some of my disability back pay I was able to pay for maintenance upkeep from a mechanic, but as for the Jurassic Park theme...I don't know what to do. The original paint hasn't survived well with the conditions I had to put the car through in the last few years to survive (I had to live sick and disabled out of the camper several times, pushing both vehicles to make sure I was able to survive) and I'm really unable to do any of the work myself to repaint both vehicles and get a proper clear coat on them this time.

I am planning on keeping both vehicles for now. Like I said above, they were instrumental to my survival while I was unable to work and trying to find people who took my illness seriously. I've been sick and disabled for 3 and a half years now, no idea if I'll recover or not. After my failed park ranger season in 2022 ended I was homeless for a few months before a friend let me stay in their place for a couple years until last September when they moved. I was then homeless again for a couple months waiting for disability to approve before it did and I was finally able to afford my own apartment. My team of doctors have me on some good treatments that help stabilize my symptoms but with covid being so new and effecting people differently I'm not holding my breath for a cure (also not asking for medical advice here, I'm just explaining my situation). But I'm also hopeful that I can one day at least return to some public land exploration stuff!

Attached are some pictures of them from the last few years. Thanks for reading!!

As another disabled person, I'm sorry to hear about your situation, I hope it will improve.

How does the trailer handle with the axle being that far back?

The inside of the trailer looks like a cool little cabin :)

Take care and I look forward to the next update from you.

Thank you! Getting my living situation stabilized has been immense for my mental health, and while it hasn't improved my physical health its nice not having to stress about where I'm going to get water or money to pay for my phone bill.

The only issues with towing the trailer is how low to the ground it is. I had planned on getting an axle flip and some taller tires but, well never was able to do that. Its pretty light, I think around 2000lbs loaded, and since its about the same length as the ML makes getting through most public land roads easy. I've pulled it through gravel, mud, snow, uneven terrain, and it's been great except the ground clearance issue.
