I've managed to make a little progress the last few days. I sanded and prepped the core support for primer.



Then epoxy primer and some seam sealer for extra insurance.



Then it was time for 2 coats of color and 2 of clear.





Then on to the underside of the hood. Apparently no before or during pictures on this one.



Also did the inside of one fender. Prepped, epoxy primer and a little seam sealer.



Now time for color and clear. My 10 year old daughter sprayed this one. She did good on her first try





Now for the tailgate. I prepped it then sprayed with epoxy primer and sealed the seams with seam sealer and made good paths for drainage.







And of course some more color and clear. I'm trying out a high solids clear for this that is supposed to be more scratch resistant. We'll see how true that is!

Didn't do too much with it this winter. At least nowhere near what I wanted to. Spent too much time remodeling 3/4 of my basement. After putting 1500 lbs of tile down I decided to take a break and play with the kids. But hopefully now back on track. Kids want to go exploring in it.

When done, you’re going to have an almost 200k rig… it will be so worth the time you’re putting in. Even if it is between projects… I know the feeling, I didn’t get much done to mine this winter either, and probably won’t get much done this spring… I’m waiting for the money to prefer a Edlebroxk Pro-Flow 4 EFI system to fix my drivability problems after the engine swap.

That should be a nice setup. I'm thinking about going with a mass airflow system and custom tuning it.

I was thinking MAF as well… but I’m finding it is harder and harder to find replacement ECUs for these rigs, so aftermarket EFI… I have been doing some research on the subject and the Pro Flow 4 is the only system able to be tuned from an iPhone…

True I have a maf factory one for a 95 and correct transmission. But I haven't looked into available replacements. Going to have to do that.

Took the doors off and sanded them along with the door jams. Needed new hinge bushings anyway. Got them primed, color, and cleared. Didn't take much for pictures this time.









Took a fair bit of time but I managed to get it done this weekend and it turned out pretty good.

Made some more progress lately. My replacement transmission was finally ready.



Old one out and new ready to bolt up to engine.





I'll have to get a picture of it installed. I was in a bit of a hurry that day so not many pictures. It's an e4od built to hopefully hold up to abuse.

With the engine and transmission bolted back in. I started hanging some sheetmetal back on. Had to bring it back home. I stored it at a friend's house for a week or 2 since I needed the garage for another project. The doors are back on.



Time for the core support.



And with the fenders test fit and lined up.



I'll have to take the fenders off for a few things but I wanted them on for figuring out the rock sliders length.



Messed around a bit but ended up liking the ends at about a 35 degree bend.









Added some support and as my wife wanted something to help the kids from getting feet stuck. Not sure they'll be real effective for that.







Now to remove them and finish weld them. Then primer and paint.

I finished welding them up. Added endcaps on the tubes and got some primer and paint on.

Went ahead and pulled the transfer case apart. Cleaned it up and inspected it. Made a few repairs and updates.





Installed a relocation mount for the rear axle speed sensor on the rear output of the transfer case.





And I got a little paint on it to match the transmission.



I got it installed but forgot to take a picture of it tonight. I'll have to remember get a picture and add it.

It was a lot of scrubbing with a screwdriver and wire brush. But it got there.

I hear ya… mine was pretty bad as well, although I never got mine quite that clean.

I probably got a little excessive on cleaning the outside but turned out pretty good.
