I got the Garmin nylon sports band and it's a lot more comfortable to sleep with.
Two things to know: if you shower with your watch, this band gets soaked and takes a while to dry up. It will also stretch with time.
That said, I am very happy with it.
I've been using sketchup. The free only version is enough to build something like this, once you figure out the software (not entirely intuitive). You can also find an older version of Sketchup that you can install locally on your computer (but they don't make it or distribute it anymore and...
Some new changes to this design:
1. Redesigned the tray geometry to provide a full flat surface on top. I'm thinking this will be stronger and easier to clean if used for meal prep, etc.
2. Replaced the top 3/4" of the side wall with a separate piece where I can add t-nuts to attach the top...
Thanks. (long time viewer and subscriber! Love the content).
Part of the reason I'm adapting this to use the WolfPacks is to save on weight (and make it easier to move things around and not have them always in the truck).
I need to see how much I can cut out without compromising the structural...
I'm working on a "drawer" system for my 4Runner. I have the factory slide-out tray and wanted to work around it for now. This is based off of Mitch Caldwell's design.
It's designed to fit 4 Front Runner WolfPacks. If you use the Cub Packs instead, you may be able to flip the sliders upside down...
Yes, Garmin's prices on bands are insane. Anyway, I've heard good things on reddit about these:

I'd love something like the Enduro has, but Garmin only sells that in the 26mm size, not 22mm. There's a couple of similar ones available on Amazon...
We always sous-vide a hanger steak medium-rear before leaving. Then heat a cast iron pan on the fire, add butter, garlic, herbs, olive oil. Stir baby potatoes (cut in quarters) until done, then sear the hanger steaks until they reach your desired final doneness. Quick and easy.

Ended up getting the Epix and couldn't be happier. Does everything I need (and more) and love the new screen. Battery life is still incredible. I wish Gaia would come up with a proper integration with it. I might swap out the band for a more comfortable one, as the included rubber...
Thanks for your message! This is all very useful info for me. I'm torn between the Fenix 7 and the Epix at the moment. Main difference is screen quality and battery life. I mostly overland, so have access to a power source even if I go off for several days. And my hikes are never longer than...
Thanks. I've never had a smart watch and am really only interested in the health/exercise/mapping features. I don't really want an extension of my phone (I have enough with it, ha!). Also want something I can wear 24/7 without having to worry about charging, etc. Hopefully I can make a decision...
How do you like your Fenix so far, now that you've had it a few months? I'm considering getting a Garmin but on the fence on which model. Looking at everything from the 955 to the Fenix 7 to the Epix.
I have a Luminox as well that I found sunken in a surfing beach/reef. Cool story and still works. I went to change the band once and the watch salesman asked me if I was in the Navy Seals....
Thinking of getting a Garmin now for health tracking and mapping.
You're welcome. By the way, I love the new mapping stuff. I'm a long time Gaia user but tried recording some tracks in OB today and loved it. Still need to try a few more things, but I hope to have a more complete review soon.
This happened to me today. I used my iPad to record a couple of tracks and then later used the app on my phone (Samsung) and could not find my new tracks. They only showed up after logging off and on again on the Samsung .
Fortunately, the screws I use on my rack to hold the traction boards in place, are the same size as the tripod screws on the 360. Gives me a lot of options. I’ll try something different today for a different angle. Poor man’s drone technology, lol
