Small update to this, ended up stealing the battery I was using pictured above, to use as a starting battery in my truck, and purchased a proper Deep Cycle battery for use with the aux system. Much better off now.

I love my torsen LS in the rear on my ranger. With a little bit of brake applied it acts damn close to a locker and has worked very well for me. I would eventually like a selectable up front, but it's not a necessity for me. a good LS does perfectly well for majority of people, really.
