It's working great for me so far, I put it by the open slider ad the foot end, and have it blowing air diagonally across to my head end. Works great. Lasts a long time on one charge, as well!
Ended up grabbing one of the opolar 10,000 mAH battery fans, arrived yesterday and it should do the trick! The big battery is nice, and I can charge it very easily from my usb panel in my sleeping area.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
I haul my canoe with me, just strap it to the roof basket and it works great. Love having it with me, never know when you'll find a cool river or lake.
Yeah, pretty insane haha. Might have to just gamble on the cheap units and hope for the best lol
I do have a nice fan, that's 120v ac, but I don't have my inverter hooked up yet and honestly may never hook it up as I really have no need for it, aside from the fan I currently have. So I'd rather...
Thank you! The ryobi is a neat idea, I already have some of their batteries so that would be cool. The Sirocco looks like exactly what I want, though. The price is insane lmao. Might have to look into the ryobi one.
Anyone here have a 12 volt fan they can recommend? This will be for the back of my truck in my sleeping area. Looking for something that is reliable and has at least two speeds. something fairly quiet would be preferred, brushless motor maybe?
Looking on amazon all I'm finding is cheap plastic...
throwing in for the Fiskars love. Have their splitting axe for at home firewood duties (wood heat in winter), have a small hatchet for camp duties, and a mid size chopping axe as well. Have had them all for around 5 years now, pretty good use on all of them but the most on the hatchet, all are...
Got everything wired up this weekend, I have a working 2 battery system now! Isolator works wonderfully. Although in the process I did discover I have a very small drain somewhere on my starting battery, which would explain why it was harder to start all winter after sitting for a few days...
The cooler I have is a "Woods boreal 65L cooler". It's a $120 cooler, that I got on sale for $50. Couldn't pass it up at that price. It claims to keep ice frozen for 5 days, which in my usages I've had 4L milk jugs of ice still 75%frozen after said 5 days, and still kept me going for 7 days till...
See, thing is, my truck doesn't house my cooler, it goes in the trailer. So, even though size wise yes a fridge can be smaller or the same size, you so have to have it semi-permanently mounted in your rig. I just cannot do that with my setup. No room in the tiny lil ranger lol. I did think about...
Very true. Long term, couple weeks, fridge would be nice. Thankfully cooler and ice had always worked for me, granted longest trip I've done with this has been 7 nights, 8 days. Still had half my ice left.
I personally do not have any room for a fridge in my rig, which is why I love the cooler...
I don't get the whole argument that you will be buying ice, draining water, etc. from coolers.
Does no one else fill old milk jugs to freeze? Is that just me? lol. No mess, no buying ice... Just fill, freeze, and throw in the cooler. Even better, fill with filtered water so you can drink as...
I thought about doing a fridge, but Cooler always works for me. I have a 65L cooler for longer trips of 5+ days, and I have never needed to add ice to it on a trip yet, so I see no benefit of adding a fridge, really. would take up a lot of living space, as it's not something that can be moved...
The isolator I have is voltage based, I believe it's 13.3v, once it sees that at the starting battery. It switches power to run into the second battery, once it sees it there, it isolates it back off again.
They're both the same brand, and type, only difference is ones a group 34 and ones a...
Small update to this, ended up stealing the battery I was using pictured above, to use as a starting battery in my truck, and purchased a proper Deep Cycle battery for use with the aux system. Much better off now.
I mean, overlanding is vehicle based so technically everything is a vehicle part.... lmao.
I guess I will say materials for my trailer was the best thing I bought since it allowed me a lot more freedom with how I do trips.
There are already several off-road themed discords, granted they're small compared to some servers, I run the biggest one I've seen so far with around 200 members.
Having one dedicated to strictly overlanding would be tough to have active, in all honesty. It's a small niche group of people who...
Absolutely worth it for me. I sleep in the back of my truck, so having more room now that I have the trailer is soooo nice. I can leave the trailer at base camp when I want to go somewhere else for the day, I can load it and unload it whenever I want, it's always ready to go. Gives me all the...
I love my torsen LS in the rear on my ranger. With a little bit of brake applied it acts damn close to a locker and has worked very well for me.
I would eventually like a selectable up front, but it's not a necessity for me. a good LS does perfectly well for majority of people, really.
