Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Ive been trying to find the perfect fire pit to take with me on trips, and I finally found a local guy who mimics the ones used in Campgrounds in the area. Just a square box, with a flip over grate. Super simple and can have much larger fires than most the items pictured in this thread, and it...
This is after I backed out of the hole enough to hop out of the truck. I figured hey, little water crossing may as well since it's the "short route" to where I was going, and I had already been through three without issue!
Turns out this one was super deep. It was over my tires (35") in the...
Thanks! Yeah, main plan is to use it just to take the chill out of the bed and sleeping bag before crawling into it. And then in the morning to take the chill off my clothes before putting them on.
Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a little heater for the back of my truck for cold weather camping trips. Being such a small space, I was looking at the small, little buddy heater.
My plan isn't to use this while I'm sleeping in there, but rather to heat up the space for a little while before...
Thanks!
I should mention. The terminals are properly crimped. I just didn't have the proper size heat shrink for those ones, so I electrical taped them lol.
Wiring from main battery to isolator, to second battery is all 2 gauge I do have proper heat shrink for those. So those will be done...
In my pointless opinion, I don't think overlanding itself has become elitist. I think there are definitely people and businesses that treat it that way, but there are likely a vast amount more that don't.
It's like anything, really. You'll always have a group that treats themselves as the...
Thanks! Was definitely super convenient being able to charge my cameras at the end of the day while I slept! being only USB 12V they weren't super fast to charge, but overnight did the trick! once I get an inverter and get full power to the back, things will be even better.
Hey all, so a while back I decided I wanted a second battery in my truck, but I didn't need anything overly complicated, like solar charging, etc.
My plan was to keep it simple, and easy. Battery isolator between the main battery and a second battery to keep both batteries charged, but not...
what I did on my truck was mostly leave the front mostly alone, just upgraded the shocks a bit, and keep it maintained properly.
Out back I swapped my stock Ford Ranger leaf springs out and put in 1/2 ton Chevy leaf springs. These are longer which gives a much smoother ride, they have a higher...
Hey guys, so I've got almost everything I need to install my second battery in my truck and start running power to the back sleeping area. The only thing left is to figure out what fuses to use.
My trucks alternator is 130A from the factory and I'll be sticking with that (I had thought about...
