    F350 Ambulance lift?

Saw this guy's video recently. Not sure if there is a lift or just big ass tires but it may help see what's possible.

1990 XJ? Is it worth it?

I loved my last XJ and paid $1,900 for it with 178k miles. A/C compressor did not work but it needed nothing else. The price on that one seems pretty steep even with the mods. As a reference I paid $2500 for my 92 Land Cruiser with 226k miles and it had almost new 33" BFG A/T's on it, no rust...

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

That's a great spot! If I had not moved to CO then Asheville would have been my spot. Love it out there. Spent a lot of time touring with my band through NC in the mountains. It is a great place.

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

Yep. It's the Blackbird XLC with a 0 degree Wookie under quilt. Like sleeping on a cloud. So good. I'll check out Walhalla. It's always fun to try out different stuff. My partner and I did not hammock camp nearly as much this year because we started sleeping in the land cruiser over multi day...

    So motorcycle overlanding

Thanks! It's a great ride for sure. I'm in Boulder County, Colorado. That pic is from a neighborhood about 8 miles up a local canyon. There was a house next door with that view. Colorado is hard to beat for great riding and views.

    Land Cruiser/LX registry

1992 3FE FJ80. Slow and low is the tempo. Stock on 33 BFG A/T's. It's a daily driver, stuff hauler, and camper. 230k and goes strong. Hard to beat.

    Overland vehicle change

I enjoyed a 1997 Jeep Cherokee for a bit a couple years back and averaged about 18mpg. It was very capable, had great power, and was very reliable with the 4.0 straight 6. The square shape was great and could hold a ton of stuff. The should be available anywhere for 5k or under.

    Snow?

16" outside of Boulder, CO. Was a blast plowing the Cruiser through unplowed streets. Unfortunately the boss waited until I was already at work to tell me not to come in

Love the old Toyota. If I did not have to have room when my kids come to town that would be the way I would go. Dig it!

    Snow?

Forecast is 8-10" Monday night where I'm at. About time to get the cruiser offroad in the snow.

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

We sleep differently depending on the trip. When stationary in the woods hammocks are the go to. When out exploring it's the memory foam mattress in the back of the Land Cruiser. Both set ups are hard to beat.

    Contentment

The way I deal with discontent with my vehicles is to pay $2500 or less then sell it if I don't like it and buy something else. I'm settled in now with my '92 Cruiser and plan on hanging on to it for the long term. Prior to that, though, I owned about 16 cars in the last 5 years. It's been a lot...

What's your MPG (fuel economy) on the road.

Rough calculation (divide miles on trip odo by total gallons I put in the take at fill up) for my 92 Landcruiser on 33's as 11.2mpg. I drive the automatic like a manual to be able to get my 0-60 distance to less than 2 miles so that probably has an effect :sunglasses:
