So I bought a factory Toyota bed rail off of Amazon and cut it to size then drilled a few holes and tada. And it’s mounted to a flat piece of metal. Then I just bolted a regular rotopax mount to it. I plan on buying another one for the left side of the bed.
Little update. Finished the pull out drawer, found a spot for my spare, mounted my maxtrax and fire extinguisher, and waiting for warmer temps to install the GFC inside lights. Hope everyone’s staying healthy!
My plan is to hard wire these lights into the truck, then run anything else (fridge, charging stuff, etc) off of a goal zero yeti. I read over the light info again and it’s worded as if everything is included for the install so I’ll see when I open the box. So I may just have to run wires from...
@HoosierT quick question, do you happen to know what wires in/around the bed of the Rangers are always hot? I’ve searched a couple forums and the oem 12v bed socket (the one you have) cuts power after a bit. I’m thinking I may be able to tap into brake light wires? The wife bought me this...
Just be ready to do some crash bar modifications with the 285s on the front to avoid rubbing. Also don’t forget the alignment when it’s all done. Took my dealership 4 hours to do my alignment after suspension and tires went on. Since it was a “custom” suspension he had to do a lot more adjusting.
That’s one way to do it. What size yeti were you thinking about? I’ve seen the 400 power a fridge and charge devices for a good period of time. Plugging big items like that to the main battery always worries me I’ll run the battery dead by leaving something on too long. And I don’t want to deal...
To answer your question, kind of yes but also no. When closed there isn’t enough room for sleeping bag and pillows and blankets. But there is a little room, I keep one of our big blankets up there and maybe could squeeze another one in there. If your gear is thin enough it’ll have a better...
Thanks all, we had a plan to go camping this weekend but they shut all the camp grounds down yesterday in my state, along with a stay at home order. And on top of that my base has a stay at home order too so not fully sure if were going or not. Ill have my drawer pull out finished by this...
Your Ranger looks good! I ended up getting an add a leaf for the rear which raised the rear to a nice height and added the rake back. Shrockworks sliders are on the list for my truck hopefully in the near future. I’ll look into their skid plates, wasn’t aware they made those so that’s sweet!
Thanks! That’d be great to get out that way, don’t know when I’ll be able to plan a trip out East but maybe Uncle Sam will move me soon. Currently I can’t leave the state
If you want to avoid lifting/leveling mainly have to stick with 265 tires. On my Ranger I currently have 275/70R17 K02s on Icon wheels with an Icon Stage 2 suspension and at full lock and compression I still get a little rub but that'll be sorted out soon. The 275/70 would work on a stock truck...
Like many of you I am a knife guy! Heres my group of camp knives, top is an older Ontario that was an impulse buy about 7 years ago and still hasn't made it outdoors haha. Middle is an old Gerber 925 my dad gave me on a hunting trip probably 10+ years ago. And the bottom being my newest camp...
We are planning on going to the July event! As long as Uncle Sam doesn’t get in the way and this whole virus thing is past us. The DODs now restricting us so we can’t leave the state for a couple months. As far as the 24th-26th I’ll have to really play it by ear, again with the whole virus and...
The first photo was in November and the second two were in October. Both locations didn’t have a lot of snow and were easy to drive through. My wife and I are going back to the lakes this summer as well!
I’m down here in Mountain Home just south of Boise. You can head out to Pine/Featherville for some easy camping. And there’s Trinity Lakes which you should be able to access in the OB which is beautiful. As far as Forrest roads traveling to Bald Mountain Fire Tower has an access point just past...
Next round of stuff went on! Icon Compression Wheels and BFG KO2s were slapped on today. Kinda transforms the whole look. No noticeable noise from the tires what so ever. I’m building a full length pull out drawer (just waiting on the drawer slide to arrive) and a solar panel mount for the top...
Go Fast Camper went on today and it’s been worth the wait. Also added an Add a Leaf kit to the rear! Going to be building a slide out drawer in the future as well.
Go Fast Camper went on today and it’s been worth the wait. Up in Montana for the day/night with tomorrow’s plan to visit Yellowstone and Grand Tetons before heading towards home. Too cold to spend the night in Yellowstone in the tent this trip sadly. More photos to come over the weekend!
