I'm a loner by nature so it's always just me and my pooch. My rig is my one and only means of transport so I don't take many chances with it. I know what it can do without tearing anything up.
Being retired, I knew this would be the last vehicle I ever buy. Barring an accident. I decided on the Tacoma because of Toyota's reputation for reliability and longevity. I figure by the time it wears out I'll be too old and senile to be driving anyway. I was also impressed by the large...
I run the Smittybilt X2O 10K winch . I've always had good luck with their products and it's not something I hope I need to use very often. So I decided to save some bucks. So far in 2 years I've used it once. And that was just to pull my brothers van onto a car trailer.
Watching thread. I have been looking for a solution myself. That looks like it might work. Have to slide it over some probably to reach but that's doable.
I just keep mine in my file cabinet. In case any of my friends say that isn't a genuine OB medallion on my rig. I can show them the proof and then get new friends.
It was my personal car and I was kinda hoping they would total it. I'm OCD about knowing my car is not 100% how it left the factory. It was the XSE fully loaded model so worth quite a bit more than 20 grand at the time. Long story short..don't trust the Toyota navigation system too far.
I'm no expert but I personally wouldn't use anything that isn't for the specific purpose as a tow strap. With the weight limit specified. I'm big on safety.
I agree with you. It's ugly. It's trash. And I'm a card carrying member of the Tread Lightly movement. I've never been there so I don't know the details. Is it on public land or private? Can you clean it up without getting in trouble? My other post was just musing about how we treasure ancient...
Oh, I have stories. :grinning:
This was quite a few years back, when I was young and foolish instead of mature and wise like now <insert eyeroll>, long before everyone carried a camera in their pocket so no pics I'm afraid. Anyway...
I was 17 and was out playing in the sandhills in a beat-up...
It's a perspective thing. Hundreds of years ago bored Native American kids drew pictures on the rocks and cave walls. We treasure them today and call it petroglyphs. When modern kids do it we call it vandalism. Who knows what they'll call our trash 200 years from now. Those gnomes may be in a...
I use a little buddy propane heater to warm up the tent. I don't sleep with it on. I usually wake up cold in the wee hours and warm it up again.
We could do like the mountain men. Dig a ditch and fill it with hot coals. Then cover it up and sleep on it. If you've ever seen the movie Jeremiah...
