I just drilled right through the sheet-metal and put huge washers to prevent it from pulling out. 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Could have just done 2 on top.
Oh, I'm familiar with the EGR tube. I 've found a 12g wire will clean it nicely. I have always figured the propensity for it to clog was due to the burning of the oil. I know it's a design flaw of some ports within the engine.
A few months ago, I updated the build quite a bit, then did a trip to Humboldt County and the Lost Coast. I got the Roofnest for $2100 off of CL. It was brand new and still was in the factory packaging. The guy bought it but never mounted it. There are a few quirks about the tent I don't like...
This is not mine but is the same year and color as mine. Saw it on CL and thought I'd pass the link on for this sweet truck to help it go to a good home. If you buy it, let's go wheel!!!

I found this on line and it got me thinking...
There are a bunch of broken troopers out there for cheap ($500-800).
I'm interested in wisdom on it this is a good...

That second link is really all you need. I recommend keeping you're eye out at the end of senator and taking the left toward wolf creek campground if nothing looks goopd. The spots begin after the campground and are mostly on the right of memory serves.
If it were me, I'd be pulling off of...
You're looking for primitive camping? At the end of senator hwy (which is the rd in from crown king) there is a bunch of dispersed camping spots. If you go out walker rd. past lynx lake, there is a lot too. The loop rd around Thumb Butts has a bunch of spots. Also, wolf creek rd (also at...
I would go with the Prado. Just out of personal desires and taste. I've owned enough mitsus to know why they are not as popular as toyotas. I'm sure you'll be happy with either though.
I've got an 01 X but it's 2wd. Have you seen the build that that other overland forum profiled? It's sweet. If I were going this route, I would put bunk beds and a queen size mattress in there. Maybe a full kitchen with 1& a half baths. Indoor pool? It's a huge blank canvas inside...
