    One tire I haven't seen mentioned is the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac.  I've ran on two generations of Grand Cherokee and loved them both times.   And they see a little bit of everything here in Minnesota.  Mud, gravel, snow, ice, and even some rock.  For me, I will take them over an AT or an MT...
