Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Hello Denver! Nice to have you aboard! My wife and I have family in Aurora, and my sister in law just arrived there this weekend. We may be headed that way ourselves, someday soon. :)
Good to have you here!
Love the Mutt, and the Subie too. We are thinking of revamping our Tribeca into more overlanding styled rig, but we will probably go with our Escape instead. But I am NOT getting a plate that says Carlie (the worlds dumbest boxer) or Cookie (the worlds shyest Border Collie).
Still looking for my two meters.... put them someplace "safe" ... sigh, grumble..sigh.
Glad you got a hold of one.

Good question/topic, something that should be discussed long before hitting the trails!
My Jeeps/Troopers/Durango/etc had always had a CB and a Ham Rig in them. For a CB I prefer a Cobra 75wxst these days, since all the controls are mounted in the handheld mic, and the unit mounts under a seat...
YES! Got a nice break from the cold this weekend. Drove the oldest kid to college yesterday with the windows down, got to go play a bit in the Escape, even pulled the Vette and Stang out of storage to wash them! Sadly, had to work too, so no exploring.
Working outside (doing tree work) it has...
I was thinking of a trip along the same line this summer, though I will be running a pretty bone stock Escape for the trip. Planning to head up the New England coast, following the coast around via New Brunswick, then PEI, then follow the Nova Scotia around to Halifax/Darthmouth, then to...
Welcome to OB from New Hampshire!
Like you, I have had Jeeps before kids, and now in a family mover. Look forward to hearing about your rig mods, and your adventures!
Cheers!
Love this build! My Wife and I had a 1990 Trooper and a 1991 Trooper, and loved them both. The 90 was sold with just over 275K on it, still running well, though you could see daylight through it, and the 91 was traded in favor of a RAV4. while basically stock, with the exception of 30X9.5...
Great article! I tend towards Michaels side of things.... jump in the rig and yell "Roadtrip!' is my normal pre trip planning faze..... :O
Checklist will make the likelyhood of returning from said trip much higher :)
Love the thread! My wife had a 1990 Trooper, then a 1991 Trooper and we loved them both for overlanding. Bone stock, except for the 30.5"X9 tires, her Trooper went everywhere my 1988 YJ went without an issue. we spent plenty of nights sleeping in the back, exploring logging trails and abandon...
