Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I was able to go through the dash wiring and get everything working, and I started wiring up my daughters old stereo. It picks up country music stations like nobody's business, so I'm good. Add to that the ability to add front and rear cameras and play cd's, etc., and I'm golden. Obligatory...
Hello and welcome from Duncan! I don't know much about the trails around here, but as soon as I get my rig back to road worthy Ill be looking to check out the Oklahoma Adventure Trail.

Just a quick update. The guys over at the cj forum have been super helpful. They said I shouldn't have to replace the switch, just blow it out and work it a bit. That was contrary to something else I had read, but I can see it being the case based on how it currently feels when I cycle it.
I...
A few hours late, but I got my brake and rear hazards working again. The turn signal switch is acting up. I thought I was going to have to replace it, but it seems like I may be able to work it a bit and get it to clean up. We'll see.
Nothing spectacular, just a little troubleshooting. I found my turn signal switch is flaky, and was causing my lack of brake lights and rear hazards. Good times!
And just like that, the flashers and are working...kinda
I hit up the forums on jeep-cj.com and was pointed in the right direction. It looks like my turn signal switch is due for replacement. A little wiggle here, a little wiggle there, and the lights all work. And on the replace list...
It's been a long and trying weekend, but I'm significantly closer to where I need to be. To start off, I was able to yank all of the lights out and started one by one working through the lights. The first order of business what to wiring up the light that had been eaten. I soldered and used heat...
I wear Georgia Light Workboots just about every day. They shine up well, and blend into the business environment when necessary. Hiking I swear by my Vasque Breeze II boots. Then intermittently, I have a pair of Rocky SV2 thrown in.
Depending on timing, and where I'm at with my rig, I might be able to make a meet up. I've got my rig pulled apart, so I won't make anything soon. That said, if I miss this one, I can definitely try to make another
I totally agree. If they can't do that, then this would be the next best thing. My search fu is halfway decent most of the time, so as long as it's close I can typically find it, but having a single make specific forum to search would make things easier to narrow down.
No worries, @ohiowrangler, I'm still just plugging away, and will keep updating as things get done . Property maintenance is in my way right now. I'm hoping it'll be done today and I can get back on the lighting tomorrow after work. That is dependent upon how my daughters tonsillectomy...
Some consumables (wire / connectors / etc.) showed up today and I was able to finish up the under hood stuff and moved on to the lights. That means that the temp sending unit is good to go! WooHoo!!! Of course, I still need to tie and wrap everything, but I'm going to finish the lighting and...
Finally finished up the under hood wiring! All of my gauges, including the thermostat, work. Woohoo!!! I also have shiny new dimmer switch. Today is another good day!
Oil change and got it running for the first time since I started digging into the wiring. I'm not out of the woods yet, but it sure was nice to hear it fire up and run again. WooHoo!
It lives! An oil change and some coaxing the gas out of the tank and she fired up and purred. I won’t call it a kitten, but it idles and runs!
After digging through the wiring, getting confused over and over again, and a good bit of research, the jeep stared and ran again today. This might not...
Thanks, guys! I really appreciate the info, I definitely have an understanding surrounding the fuse being relational to the wiring. I hadn't thought about the wiring size being a factor when putting the switch panel in the cab. That's a great point. Drawing, drawing, and more drawing is in...
Okay, I think actually sitting down and trying to draw it out helped. If my logic and understanding is correct, this is how I should be wiring it, assuming I need the relay. Does it seem right? Also, any thoughts on the actual need of the relay? The lights I have at the moment are 27 watt LEDs...
